hello everyone,

No matter what panning mode I use, I don't see a difference. Even worse; if I lower the shutter speed only the car's wheels are affected. The surroundings (asphalt, scenery,...) look like the shot was taken with shutter speed 8000.

Has anyone experienced this already?

I'm driving on Nordschleife weather change and changed the track settings and fast forwarded the replay a bit. I'm using the free cam.

Here are the pictures. 3 different panning modes. Same, strange, results:

Shutter speed 60.

I'm absolutely sure. I loaded an old replay file and it's working fine over there. Might have something to do with the track settings. Wouldn't know any other reason to explain.

It's likely that with the new Fwd/Rewind feature introduced in Spec 2, the scene and the car has not enough time to move forward in-time to generate the required motion-blur when we shoot at 1/60 shutter.

Highly likely they added a "key-frame" at selected intervals so we can jump there using the Fwd/Rewind button, hence the replay file-format change in Spec 2.0 vs 1.13.

How to overcome this ? Don't shoot at the specific key-frames, instead play the video through from 1 key-frame point earlier to allow it to generate the motion required for blurring when arriving at your shooting point.

Same bug when trying to shoot sparks or rain, it seems the particles does not have enough time to move to generate a beautiful long streak.

It sounds very techinical, I hope it makes sense.

Example problem illustration :

All photos shot at 1/60, 65mm using the infamous GT5 Camera.

1. Using new Fast-fwd feature to 0.22.226 secs. Using Mode 3. Notice no motion-blur of the ground line.

2. Playing from start of race until point 0.22.250 (best my finger can do to match key-frame above). Using Mode 3. Notice ground line blur.

3. Same as 2. But using Mode 1.

So I'd conclude PD has made some work-arounds to introduce the FWD/RWD feature with the current camera's limitation. The PS3 needs more RAM instead of the measly 256Mbs currently. Cheapskate Sony ! :)

I tried it, had the same problem. But then I realized one thing. After Rewinding you have to unpause it for a second, then it works fine.

I actually run into this problem at work too occasionally. Time to add some pre/post infinity to those keys. ;)

....high five if you get me!!! hahaha

Not working in the animation line, but thanks for teaching me something new ! 👍

Now only if PD can implement this....

ps3 has 256 mb gddr3 and faster 256 mb XDR. Overall it's 512...

Only 256 are v-ram, that's the issue.
Anyway, looks like when you skip to the next sector, or rewind one back, the motion isn't rendered, so you have to unpause at least once, like mentioned.
