Who was the first manufacture to offer electric starters on their models, that also doubled as generators?

How about this: This Brand of semi trucks (that built cars for a while) was formed by a man who started an earlier company that bore his namesake, but left due to a bitter dispute with his financial backer.


1. Name the Truck Brand
2. Name the man that started it
3. Name the man's earlier namesake venture that lived until very recently.
4. Tell what's special about the truck brand.

(it's really vague, because any hints would be a dead giveaway.)
 
Damn, All I can think of is the REO brand, but it hasn't been around for years to the best of my knowledge.
It was special/odd, because its final drive was not a shaft, but a chain.

You've answered part one! (The special part has nothing to do with the mechanicals of the vehicles.)

That's cool. I think they were using chain drive until even after WWII.
 
ok my turn, they made this car from 1982 till 1998

MKII: 1982 till 1986
MKIII:1986.5 till 1992
MKIV: 1993-1998(in japan it went to 2002)

I know this might be kinda easy lol, but hey, its my fav car...
