Hey all, lets get through turn 1 tonight without shoving ncr into a wall. I think if he hits a wall 1st turn of 1st lap at Tsukuba ever again he will have envy come over and Glock his PS3.

Did I do that? Don't remember. I'm all for annihilating electronic components though.

Well it is better than having your team mate take you out at the chicane at Monza..... :-(

Also does anybody know if BK or Red will be participating?

I'm sitting this one out. No desire at the moment. Have fun guys!

Just get a heat gun an reflow it!
Do I need to make video instructions!

I did that with my first PS3. Took the entire system apart. Took me an hour or so. The fix only lasted 3 months 👎

Congrats to JT and R0ADRASH on the wins. I on the other hand would like to Glock pit stops.

The YLOD on the PS3 is caused by "potato chipping" of the processor. It is a BGA (ball grid array), which is a chip that has rows of small balls on the bottom of the package. When the component overheats the corners start to lift up, which in an extreme case would start to look like a potato chip. When this happens the ball no longer makes an electrical connection between the chip and the PCB. There is no known fix for this other than replacing the BGA. The fixes on the internet, or offered by Sony, heat the chip up in the hopes the package straightens out. This allows it to make a weak electrical connection but it will not create a good solder connection again. Operating the Playstation in a damp enviroment will make the condition worse, or more likely to occur, because the moisture is absorbed into the chip while not running and when it heats up during operation the moisture cooks out and creates a condition known as "popcorning". Any fix other than replacing the BGA with a new one is temporary at best.

And yes,.....we electronics guys do think about food a lot.....

I had a great time last night. I performed much better than I thought I would and aside from a few errors (one from the dang pits) I had a pretty enjoyable night. Lots of battling and I can honestly say I was having a GREAT time trying to stay in front of JT. lots of fun!

so, how is this car looking at Laguna Seca?

My car has less grip at Laguna. The higher speed through the "sweepers" is the cause.

I had a good time too. The car is fun. Too bad I'm missing Laguna, it should be good. I think driving this car helps my overall ability.

We need more drives!

I had a great time last night too. This car is fun to drive. I really surprised myself with my qualifying time. The second race was all strategy and an early pit rewarded me with a good finish. Too bad the pit glitches got you NCR, you were bad fast. JT great job in race 2. I was hoping to give you a run to the finish but my early pit lead to iffy tires at the end. Looking forward to the "sweepers" at Laguna

I agree, these are great street cars. So well balanced. Lots of very close racing throughout the field. Fast quali times from Scorpion and Logan. Very nice.

But yeah, the pit stops got to me last night. I didn't understand how I lost over 3 seconds to RR in race #1 when we were bumper to bumper. No way to close that gap, nice driving RR.

But in race #2 it was way worse. That's just bad programming on PD's part to throw a car back unto the track from entering too fast. Right into the racing line of a high speed turn's entry! That's stupid. Didn't PD think there might be some trailing traffic. It took me off guard, wasn't expecting DJ's car to pop back out. I was P.O'd after that, not at DJ but at the glitch. Threw away the rest of my race after that and nearly rage quit which I've never done.

I may have found the source to my accelerator problems. Last night DJ mentioned the plug connecting the steering wheel to the brakes kept coming loose, I checked mine and it was barely seated in the connector, I'll test it later tonight.

Which could all be fixed by creating a pit speed limit and allowing drivers to driver their car to the pit stall. The way it should be. Come on PD.....

Thlogan. Your hard to beat. Perfect racing.

Just a bit of an overstatement, but thanks JT. I know one thing, I had fun.:tup:The replay was great. I think I saw the crowd on their two-dimensional feet a couple of times.
I thought everyone ran pretty darn well, which is really good to see.

I like spec racing. I'd much rather drive than tune.

That GT movie discussion had me laughing so hard, I was crying, If only the movie could be half as good.

Sorry about your pit issues, NCR. We can only hope they won't exist in GT6.

But when would I have time to drink

Just ran some laps in the GTR GT3 car at Silverstone. It was unlocked last night. Took a bit to adjust to the understeer but after that I was loving the feel of the downforce. Just wanted to get a feel for it but drove for a half hour.

I noticed my name one the list, I may be able to make a few of these. Spent a lot of time running laps recently and looking forward to getting back to some racing.

What was unlocked? Car or track? A Nissan GTR? New?

2013 GTA. It's in the 15th Anniversary box with the blue ribbon. The car is the GT3 Schulze GTR. It's a different car than the one in GT5. This one is RWD and I assume meant to be a replica of the current GT3 car.

You may have had to medal the previous Events to unlock it, not sure. Oh, it's Silverstone-the full circuit.

I'm liking the GT6 physics much more with this car. If this is what's in store with the new batch of GT3 cars, I'm psyched. You can feel what the car's doing very nicely, feels more connected to the track. Believable grip. It does understeer on exit a lot more than I would think a Race Car would though. The replay sound is way better than GT5 too. I dig it!

Edit: Got a 2:04.8xx. #42 in the USA! Highest I've ever been after a day. Fast guys must be prepping for GTA.

I'm ok with that. We need to hear form the camp counselor.

It's ok guys. Everyone else is on for Thursday. I'll see you guys during next week and on race day next round. I probably need to do something Friday anyway.

So if you and Brett can't make it that leaves 5 drivers. DJ, RR, Logan, Scorpion and me. Kind of a thin field.

I might be going out of town Friday but it's still undecided. But if you guys want to run Friday please go ahead.
