This is rare, a game already out but no thread

So I just played it through and enjoyed the crap out of this game. Good graphics (on PC), solid shoot mechanics, good hit system, and lots of fun.

Story is inspired by the Heart of Darkness (Apocalipse Now)

Gameplay:

seriously good and underrated game. If you have nothing to do, give it a try.

I loved it (way better than generic modern warfare fanfare crap)

I'll have to finally download the demo off of PSN Store. Never heard much about the game when it was released so didnt feel the need to try it.

First heard about this game at the Spike VG Awards in 2009, and looking into it at the time I was really looking forward to getting my hands on it. 2 years passed and I totally forgot that it was still in development, so I was thinking about getting it a month ago when it was released. I still haven't got round to buying it yet, plus I heard that online is below average (looked alright to me though).

I'll probably get in eventually, but I haven't been playing much lately and my interest has dropped in recent months.

I've been meaning to download the PS3 demo, looks like an interesting game and I especially like the Dubai setting which makes a change from the other generic middle east locale games. Will have to see how it plays first, also worried about stupidly short FPS campaigns which I want to see if this suffers from.

to answer the aboves:

- the campain took me around 10 hours. (+- 1hour)

- there are better 3rd person cover shooter games out there (uncharted (ps3), GOW (X360))

- The setting and the story are fantastic

- Though it gives the impression of choices, there aren't really a lot of choices, but that is a part of the experience (need to play to get it, otherwise i spoil the story)

- It gives a certain feel about the story, the shooting at people that I rarely had in games (are they really the bad guys?)

- 4 endings, all are epic

- The game is a lot more about the SP than the MP, the SP is as said excellent.

By now it should be at an acceptable price, 50 bucks would be a bit much, 25 bucks is justified for such an epic 10 hour story.

And popping headshots feels great as ammo isn't that common, you need to take your shots.

Play it on hard and even you die quite realisticly, 1 headshot kills

FYI, one of the caracters ingame is John Konrad, reference to Joseph Conrad, the autor of the Heart of Darkness

I think the game location and is what piqued my interest all those months ago. Just the idea of wandering around a once prosperous city which has been reclaimed by the sands that surrounded it. The story is equally intriguing though.

I don't think they've reduced the price of it here yet. It's barely been out a month.

Whats the control scheme like? Ever since COD its hard to get used to other FPS layouts.

It's not an FPS, It's a 3rd person shooter such as uncharted or GRFS.👍

This is now free for PS+ members, was planning on buying it later but glad I didn't, heard good things about it
