How about an additional icon or something next to members names who have accomplished something really cool. Stuff like reaching 100% in the GT games (a different icon for each).

It could be a field in the user profile that only Admins and Mods could edit, and create an image next to or under user names in the posts. That would help people to know who plays the game a whole lot and may or may not know what they're talking about. I mean, just because people post a whole lot on the boards and have really high post counts, doesn't necassarily mean they know what they're talking about when it comes to the games.

I guess then we could have more icons for the stuff we nominate and vote on people for.

Weeelaaaaaa!!

Like RoadHazzard, who did a 100% 'perfect' game!!! :D:D:D:D

Good idea.

You could have, best commodore at GTP (or is that the only commodore)

Somebody could have a head so far up their arse one. ;)

i second the second motion.

you could have the best race idiot icon and doug could have the hottest ***** icon. boy hes sexy...;)

nah i dont have a wanker forum but id like one for GTP5.

i dont see why some people get secret forums and others dont.

Yeah, I can understand having a moderators forum.

But calling it "The Secret moderators forum" is a bit stupid.

It reminds me of the teachers staff room at school kinda.

I think that's a good idea. You could have icons for those people that won the GTP awards.

Well, this is tricky. See I play GT3 to death, but I'm not at 100%...I also know just about everything for GT2 and GT1, and GTA3 and now GTA4. Then there's the MAZ club...

That's a good point. I wonder if Jordan could make fields in the profile for the different clubs. Then members could check off each club their in and it would add a little 10px X 10px icon under their name. That way it would be evident which club they're a member of.

Hey Jordan, you can always count on me to round up more work for you (:

He's probably going to make me write the code too ...

Hey, I'm just an ideaologist. I don't have anything to do with actual work, thank you very much.

No F1, please don't do the icons.

Leave it to the experts like me and Loud and me and yea you know...

I'm making sure to quote posts like this so that when you edit them later, i can still make you remember what you've said.

I don't like the idea of the "Special Accomplishments Icon" deal. It would be okay if they were used sparingly (Sp?). For example, you could maybe give Mazkid one for getting his own forum. I also think that they shouldn't be given out to people for dumb stuff like making clubs or something like that. The idea about icons for playing games a lot and stuff is okay but couldn't that just be put in the user's profile? For some reason I keep thinking that it would encourage people to say something like "This thread is only for people with (insert acheivement name) icons." But that's probably just my bad mood talking. I would like to see the GTP Awards come back though (I wasn't here when they were around I guess).

Basically to sum things up, I think its a good idea if they are not whored to everyone and people don't start forming threads only for themselves. That's my opinion, take it or leave it.

vBulletin 3 should come with features virtually purpose-built for this, although I'm not to sure about it. Where do you draw the line for what constitutes a "special" accomplishment? What about blatantly dishonest members?

I suppose it could be done through nominations and voting. And for things like game completion, they could/should have to show proof. That doesn't mean they didn't cheat in some digital manner ... so I see your point. But it seems like this could be something really nice to have for non-moderators.

Hey, that reminds me. How old is GTP???

I registered the domain name January 26, 2001, but I didn't open forums on the site until May 14, 2001. Of course, I was already running a message board and website on MSN Communities much earlier, which you can find out more about here. :)
