DO u know anythin about the Nismo 400R? I am using this and investing most of my money into it. I am temped to sink the 80,000 for turbo, and the ~60,000 for cage and full lightening. Is this car a contender and worth it for rally? It works great on pavement and has been ok for the easy dirt courses.

Be careful putting too much power into those rally cars. With too much power they are almost impossible to handle in the snow and on the Hard rally tracks. You will bounce off of each corner unless you are a master with the acceleration. You will spin wayy too much. Try to stick around 500-600hp if you can. I will check my specs tonight when I get home since I aready have to post specs for several other cars too. I use the analogs for the entire game and if I get the best results with them. Like I said im already finished with the entire Special COnditions event so im doing something right. If the back of your car hits the wall a little you wont get the 5second penalty.

I finally finished them last night. I ended up using my Ram 1500 up unitl the last few I had to do at the hard level. I put off doing Charmonix, the long Cathedral Rock, and Grand Canyon until the last. The Ram worked for the Grand Canyon race againts an Evo III, but it was 10 grueling minuted of blocking to do that one, then I switched to the Pajero Rally Raid car with a turbo upgrade and it worked great for the rest. Again a lot of blocking and I lucked out and ran against the Corolla at Charmonix, but it worked.

I guess for some reason the trucks work better for me on dirt and snow, maybe it's because they handle more like the cars did on dirt in GT3. And the 250 A-Spec points per race for running the ram is nice too.

Did u use the ram for the ice??? Did it work for all of the ice races? I don't want to buy it for just the easy ice races. What settings did u use?

I used the Lancia Delta for the normals, and the RSC Rally Raid for the easy races, don't know what i'm gonna use for the hard (I keep losing with both)

Here are my setting for the Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car 85'. These might not work for everyone but they should be a great help to some of you.

use a nissan sr34 and youll tear the comp to shreads they wont be able to really contend with you un beliveable controll of the car and the way the gears can set

jst dont hit the walls with ur frot and ur ok :D i jst slide and hit the sides with the rear and just drive off. I won all the tarmac races first, then unlocked the 205 (the one with 10million lights at the front) and used that to beat the other rally races :)

I'm having no problems at all. I use a modified WRX STi Spec C, Tuned completely except I use a stage 1 turbo. Turn all the driving aids off, put 50lbs at the very rear of the car, set the rear stabilizer at 1, front at 3 or 4. Leave the suspension alone other than that. That's my off road set up. Buy some super soft tires, and make a road race tuned suspension for your 'B' setting, and you'll annihilate the Tsukuba and Paris rallies.

If your talking about the rally, have fun once you get to the last few "expert" events. No offense but you will probably get crushed. Especially if you only have stage 1.

I really am beginning to like the George V stages. I have been running them in my Fully modded (200 HP) Lotus Elan.
The thing handles like a slot car. You can brake REALLY late and just turn in. I have pounded every car that shows up for the Easy and Normal stages.
For the dirt and snow stages, I have been using either my Subie prototype or the Toyota RSC.
I have tweaked the VCD in the Toyota to make it way more driveable.

Snow and Ice: Get a car that is very overpowered (Nismo 400R) and hit every outside wall with the rear quarter pannel and ride the wall. You will have a longer track, but with the power will beat the easy and normal races.

Easy and normal are pathetically easy. The challenge comes on the last couple rally events. After you beat those is when you should post what car you use. 👍 Otherwise what you use in normal and easy are pointless to post unless you use them to beat the last couple hard events.

Although there's nothing that can be done about it, I just wish the AI car had to deal with the same penalty as we do. I was on the last lap at Colorado(Hard), in the lead and had been doing some kick-a$$ driving. I get my car sideways for one of the slower hair pins, which I had been doing the whole race with success and BAMMM! The S.O.B. nails me! Ya know, like in GT3 when you're losing and make a last ditch attempt to regain the lead by knocking the lead car off-line. Well as I slide into the barrier the A.I. procedes to get a 4sec. lead on me. Yeah, colorado is a long course but regaining 4 seconds without hitting the edge of the track for another penalty during a hard race isn't worth the effort. I'm thinking about anger management classes now and raising the intake of onions and garlic in my diet to help lower my blood pressure.

I have ran this course quite a bit, 12 to 15 times. I come close plenty. I usually go ahead and finish the race even if I'm behind just so I can get in the (already commited) track time. I guess that's my problem, I love the game so much, I felt cheated when that crap happened. I guess "what goes around comes around" though. Lord knows I've done my fair share of fender bumping. I haven't use the Evo's a few of you have mentioned so buying/winning one and figuring out the settings I like is my next plan of attack. Lata

Just finished SPecial Conditions today.

Grand Canyon Hard was the toughest. Tried that first with my Impreza Rally Car Prototype '01, but couldn't win, then I picked my Toyota RSC Rally Car. Won with that one. But I'm tired of those ridiculous 5 sec penalties now. They're unfair and useless. I understand why they put those penalties in, but do it properly then, and so, don't give a penalty if the AI car is bumping into you... Lost many races thanx to that. So, I did it all the alternative way... I also used the outside walls at corners, leaning into the walls, at almost full speed, and won thanx to that. No matter how hard you crash into the wall, if you do it with your rear first, you won't get a penalty.

Cathedral Rocks didn't give me a lot of probs, but beat them today at Normal, had already beaten them at Hard yesterday. I did almost all rallies with my Impreza Rally Car Prototype '01, didn't want to buy a 750,000 car. and then buy the right tyres. My Impreza was good enough. I won Tahiti Reverse on Hard with my Impreza. I beat the Ford RS200 in that rally, by 9 secs or so, gave me 196 A-spec points.:)

But you say that Renault car is slow, but that Ford RS200... That one is very slow as well. The normal version, the RS200 Rally car is faster.:p

I used the Ram too for most of the rally races. For pavement ones put racing slicks on your fav fast car and kick the crap outta other guy.. It will even let you use a F1 if you have it. I am currently doing the hard dirt/ice ones, used the Ram to get the Escudo and was planning on using it for the rest. I found the Ram still seems to work better for me though and it was the only car I could get through the Grand Canyon hard races with (havnt tried the hard ice ones yet with it but plan to).

I also found for me the key to all of the rally races is pass at the beginning then hold em off at all costs.. If they get a good lead might as well restart cuz I can never catch the buggers. Oh and if your gonna hit the wall make sure and spin around so your back hits first then you dont get the penalty.

I even tried the grand canyon hard with a pink stock '64 GTO and it handled surprisingly well just diddnt have the power to keep up at all.. :dunce:

As others have said here, set front/rear balance to higher front bias (I think I used 43 or so) on an AWD rally car, set traction control to max and use the rear end of your car to bounce off the walls to avoid the 5 sec penalties. I finished with ease once I did this, with any rally car.

You're right, Grand Canyon hard is the toughest but certainly not impossible if you use the rear of the car to your advantage.

The Tsukuba wet track (hard) was easy once I got an LM car with super soft racing tires.

what i do is kinda cheating, but it works and isnt hard...

all you do is get a high powered rally car, over 400hp, and dont slow down for any of the turns. just turn and slide enough so either the side or back corner of the car hits the side of the course, it wont give you the time penalty as long as you dont hit the front of the car. keap the gas down and stay in at least 2nd gear, usually third. it works quite well. i use an 84 peugot rally car.

All I am trying to get now is the Cathedral Rocks I Hard to win that Escudo! That way I should be able to beat the "competition." They make it look easy but its really very hard.

I used my Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Super Rally car for the normal ones, my Toyota RSC Rally Raid for the Easy ones, and my fully-tuned Skyline GT-R R34 for the hards.

I did the same thing, except the stage 1, i used stage 2, and for the settings, just ajust the gear ratio a bit. And I got through the special condition hall with it, (except Tsukuba hard). When i raced the Grand Valley hard the first time, i was crushed, so i think the Escudo would be better. Got the Escudo and tried the valley again, too much power to avoid penalties, lose again, then i realized that if i could win the Yosemite hard with the Impreza, then i should be able to win the valley with it too. After 3 or 4 tries again, i did it.
