Seeing as we have threads for most of the other races in GT4, I throught I might start one about the Rallying/Special Condition races.

I'd like to know, what cars people used for the Hard Tsukuba Wet race? I've tried the Jaguar XJR-9 and Nissan 350z LM car. But neither of these where able to keep up with the Sauber C9, Mazda 787B or Audi R8. I think it's more down to my choice of tyres. What tyres and what car did people use to win this race?

i've used my polyphony digital F1 car, but i'm sure its possible with the minolta group c car aswell, only a bit more dificult. I tried it once with it and i've lost but only cause i've made a mistake and went off.
The nissan 350z LM car is impossible i think, dunno about the jaguar, i have it but didnt driven it so far.

but it has to be possible aswell i think

i used for the minolta medium race tyres btw (the tyres of the F1 car can't be chosen)

I used a 350Z Concept Race car and beat the Audi R8. I slid into him on the wet track on the first lap and he got shoved off the side and got stuck on a barrier. He lost 25 seconds but I only won by 2 or 3 since he was a lot faster

i used the nissan fairlady concept lm race car (stock) against a bently le mans car. lots of hard work, late brakeing & ccontact. only won by about 0.2 sec.

i used the lancia delta s4 stock with qualifying racing tyres (i don't know wether it made a difference or not but since theres no tyre wear i figured id give it a shot). the advantage of using this car is that your acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear is better than whatever the computer is using, the disadvantage is that on the computer car can take the last sweeping corner faster than you. having 4 wheel drive definatly helped with stability though and after a couple of tries i got it nailed.

i used a black Mazda 787B agains the Audi R8, at the first corner i just gave him a little "kiss" and then was just hold the 5sec. advantage....

Minolta Toyota here, beat the Sauber by about 1.5sec. It was close until 3rd lap when in my mirrors I saw him go off somewhere. Think I did it without turbo upgrade, set gearing quite low but did use some TCS.

It was my first attempt in this car, only gave it a go because I was in the Minolta having just done another event with it and thought it might be worth a shot after previous unsuccessul attempts in the Delta S4 and others.

I did get a 5sec penalty on the first hairpin, but as he still kept ahead it seemed like a fair race to me. 43 A-spec points, 20k and yet another version of the Ford GT.

I used the black Nissan R92CP as bought and after a small exchange of paint with the Minolta Toyota I easily pulled away and won by over 10 seconds.

Cheers for that folks. It looks like I'll be needing a fast car for this one. I've slowly been working through the Special Condition races, but this one has gotten the better of me.

I found the Jaguar XJR-9 just had no grip, so it's probably a case of not having the right tyres on.

Just keep in mind those Tsukuba races are all wet so the opponents drive like crap, specially this Audi R8 that just doesn't make the corners. I did 200 a-spec points on each Tsukuba wet always racing with a poor car. The Hard was made with a Nissan GT-R Concept (TokyoShow) ('01). Damn! This car rocks!! 👍

I used the R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II NUR...fully modded by the village and with super soft racing tires. I won easily.

what did everyone use on the ice tracks?
i used the toyota rallycar that you win earlyer (rsc or something), but that lancia in easy still chewed my a** out... i was flying all over the place... no control... at all...

maby i should use a slower car?

just to clarify im using the controler (no wheel here) and AT...

I used the Minolta and won against a Minolta, the trick to this track is to ram into the back of your oppent on the first turn, take the penalty and then hit your marks.

I just won it by using a Skyline R34 M.N.P.II 726hp

I used the Nissan Motul Pitwork Z (JGTC), stock, no upgrade, no tuning. The race is worth 200 A-spec points. What I did is, I keep hitting the R8 out to the beach, take the 5-second and hope for the best. In the last hairpin of the last lap, the R8 bounced off the wall in a bad angle such that it faces the reverse direction. It has to do a reverse to correct itself when I headed to the finish line. Try it and it's fun!

tried the f1 car, but it is too light to get traction at low speeds, so tried the minolta, pushed too much, but yesterday I won an Audi r8, just 2 sec slower around infinion than the f1 car!!! with a stage 4 turbo of course. so I put super soft tires on, and smoked the merc c9 on the wet race. no hitting, no tricks, just drove, and the car actually likes wet conditions, turns in well, and holds a steady, but slight drift on power. after, I don't even think the turbo was necesary, just took him in the corners. peice of cake.

Used the PD F1 car - Piece of cake! :sly:

I've just done it. I used the Jaguar XJR-9 with soft racing tyres. I only won by 8 tenth's, but then I did run wide and get a 5 sec penalty on the final hair pin. The Mazda 787B kept me honest for the first lap, but once I got used to the tyres and their grip level I was always goning to win. I can't believe you only get a Ford GT for winning that event :(

Now all I've got to do is those rubbish rally events.

jamezracer - You might want to make your signature a tad smaller. By all accounts you can only use 6 lines in a sig.

Suzuki GX4 Concept, tuned and with soft tires got it done for me. Caught the Minolta on the second lap, passed him on the second hairpin and never looked back. Wasn't even a race until I got to dinking around (all impressed with my bad self) and spun it. :dopey:

Caught the Minolta on the last lap, passed him on the first right and quit dinking around until the race was over.

This can be won with several different cars. However, if you are struggling with the race, I can tell you I think the best car for the Ice Arena and for Charmonix is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Super Rally Car you buy for $1,230,000. 👍 Twice as stable in this venue as any of the others I have tried so far with minimal tuning.

I used a stock CLK-GTR. I had tried with a couple things, including the Audi TT touring car, but this won did it nicely for me, stock too - didn't want to waste money on it, since I was just planning on selling the sucker.

thanx for the advice... i won the easy using the lancia delta hf integrale race car... and by just going full speed all the way... i was bumping into walls left and right, but never with my front so i didnt get any of those annoying 5 seconds punishments (except for the first try... when the ai car hit a wall and bumped into me... giving ME a penalty :grumpy: )

Lots of talk about the penalties and in the Ice Arena, they are especially prevalent because of the difficulty of passing. Pick your poisen on passing. Best off making passes just before tight and slow series of corners if at all possible in my opinion. If you do it there and get a penalty, you loose the least amount of time because the AI is slower through those corners and often times will just stay behind you hitting you in the butt whilst time runs out on the incurred penalty. 👍

This does not make me an advocate of unclean racing as I know for a fact from personal experience you can beat these races penalty free. It is only a bit of true trivia for those who want to know those things. ;)
