Was anyone else kind of mad after playing GT4 and discovering they had left out one of the most complex tracks from GT3? I used to hate SS11 when I first started GT3 but after practice I found that was a very complex and challenging track that increased my skill. I am dissapointed it isnt in the game and the only reason I can think of would be the size of the track and the capabilities of the PS2.

Another track I miss is Rome. :indiff:

Yah I loved SS11 GT1 version and GT3 version the same. It was one of my favorite tracks. Oh well, I guess they nixed it for some tracks like Nurbrug or Sarthe.

I prefered the SS11 GT1 version myself..I hope they bring it back for GT5...I also hope to see both Rome tracks - the regular and the night one from GT2....

I actually hope GT5 will have ALL previous GT tracks as well as some new ones :)

They could have done without Sarthe. That is one of my least favorite tracks in GT4. Who knows though, when the PS3 comes out GT5 may just happen to have it.

r u nuts?..sarthe is an amazing track..both 1 n 2..when ur hittin the crazy speeds of 400+km/h on sarthe 2..or braking to 150-165km/h for the chicanes on the straight

They could have done without Sarthe...

First, go wash your mouth out with soap.

Then, go stand in the corner for two hours.

Finally, write on the blackboard 100 times, "I will never say anything nasty about the great Sarthe track in GT4 ever again."

I'm sure every track from previous GTs would fit on the 30GB Blu-Ray disk (is that the one they decided on?) for GT5. It would only be a matter of them creating them.

Creating them shouldnt be that hard expecially for SS11. I am glad that they did include new tracks though so I guess the absense of SS11 made room to bring back Autumn Ring Large and Small, Paris & George V and others.

LOL, I knew I was going to get crap about badmouthing Sarthe. It just doesnt appeal to me, I like the curves but straightaways bore me. I guess thats why I like the "ring" more than Sarthe. It has its good points though. I do like the technical corners that are after the long straight before the finish.

Actually, re-driving SS11 again in GT3 there's several sections where the track is slightly lower than the kerbs and you can see the scenery through the gap. Still a fun track though. 👍

I hated SS11 in GT1, but I liked it in GT3. In GT3 it seemed they opened the track up a whole lot more.

I really dont miss the SS11 cus after that endurance race in GT3, it made me sick every time i played it. But i do mis the complex sting....yea rite.LOL

R8 king, are you saying that because you weren't good on those tracks? I loved SS11 mainly because it was easy to mess up if you didn't try, and I thought the sequence of turns was pretty unique. I didnt play the GT1 version of it though, ever. I became a GT fan after part 2, never got my hands on 1. Complex String was awesome too. After I learned how to drive it (with the time trial mode finished in first), I thought, wow, this is a really cool course, because it tests SKILL, not how good you are at wallriding.

I loved SS11 on GT1, was sad to see it missing on GT2, didn't like the changes on GT3, and was sad to see it gone again on GT4. I remember Kaz saying ALL the tracks from previous GTs would be in it, yet we're missing SS11, not to mention the Pikes Peak races and the good rally tracks (alps?), and a few others I don't remember right now. The real tracks are nice, but they need more interesting ones instead of 4 versions of Fuji  Tracks with more elevation changes would be great, like Road Atlanta and the like :) Definitely bring back the original SS11 though, as I still have great memories of that track :) It was the prettiest track in GT1, too. Wonderfully lit :)

So they took it out in GT2, and everybody pissed and moaned about it. Then they put it back for GT3, and a few people were very happy and a lot said they should have left it out because it's too hard and sucks. So they took it out for GT4, and now we're all complaining. Is this track destined to be in every second GT only?

I miss Smokey Mountain, even if GT4's dirt physics suck, and I really miss the complex string. That was a great test track.

The original SS11 had a nice chicane in it that they cut off in GT3.

The course took a slightly different route in GT3. In GT1 the chicane was underneath the main straight.

I loved SSR11. It was probably my favourite track in GT3.

the chicane caught me out so many times on GT1

100mph into a wall :P

Wasn't that the S license test with the viper in GT1, it took me forever to pass that one! I kept nailing that underground divider - WHAM! :banghead:

SSR11 was a fantastic track. Long, flowing, fast, technical...it was generally a good time (except, you know, in that Vitz race...). I was sad they bastardized it in GT3, and sadder that they left it out of GT4.

How cool would it be to have it back in GT5 in all its glory, and do a 12 hour all-night endurence complete with ambient light cycles (dusk-night-dawn) and working headlights!?

Bah. I hated that track. From the greasy paving to the lousy lighting, I never enjoyed a single lap I ever drove on R11. Tedious in the extreme.

I am big fan of R11 too, only thing that bothered in GT3 was lights on that track, it was too damn bright, in GT1 it really was a night stage :)

Car lights are other thing that has miss the point, two little dots in the ground is not that you see with driving real car...

Sorry my bad english, again :dopey:

Loved SS11, and hope it returns in the next version of the game. It was tough, but tons of fun.

SS11 was the best original circuit in my humble opinion (with the version in GT1 being slightly better). The track that they could have left out, I feel, is the Clubman SS5. Not many races take place there and it's a total waste of time for the events where they do actually make use of it...

SSR5 and R11 used to be my drifting haunts on GT1. I remember just running lap after lap in a Camaro 30th anniversery edition on SSR5. I think it's a great track, as is/was SSR11. I definately prefer racing on road courses at night, im not as much of a fan of the scenery in say apricot hill, despite it being a good course. I think another course like Trial Mountain but with narrower road would be good. I suppose its off to costa d'amalfi then. While im off topic, El Capitan is a great new edition.

But yes, SSR11 is sorely missed.

SS11 Endurances. Those were the times. Undrepass is still "the place" for every Original Track in the series.

I liked it OK in GT3 in the forwards directions, but there seemed to be a lot of races run in reverse where for some reason it just didn't gel with me. Not too unhappy to see GT1's chicane missing, caught me out a lot.

Am I the only one who thinks some tracks don't really work in the reverse direction? Perhaps it's a mindset thing, should treat them as a completely new track and not use what you know running it forwards.

Ever tried turning round on the 'ring? thats just wiiieeeerd

Thatd be a good record. Fastest lap of the ring backwards, obv timing it would be, well, wa challenge, but still

Good stuff.
