Following on from our previous "WTF?!" moment with Sutil, this time a "spectator" at a Red Bull demonstration event for tsunami victims in Japan decides that taking a short cut across the course into the path of Sebastian Buemi is a frankly splendid idea.

The man is reported as injured but not life-threateningly so, but if you don't like seeing idiots being run over and surviving, don't press play:

As are the people who are titleing this story as "Buemi runs over fan".

Saw this yesterday. According to the autosport website(it was on autosport tv) he's a marshall.
 
He's an utter muppet.

You can hear an F1 car starting up from two miles away. He doesn't notice it until two feet away.

He was probably just being stupid and jumping over it. I've always wanted to try that one day.

Or maybe Beumi's testing out the 2013 engine regs, why he didn't notice him.
 
What an idiot. I shouldn't say that considering he got injured but seriously, that's a fail. At a Red Bull exhibition, in front of a Red Bull...seriously, just no. :dunce:

No, you can still call him an idiot. It was his own fault so you can make fun of him and still keep your conscience clear.
 
I'm surprised at how easily some of the carbon fibre broke off when he hit it. How fast was Buemi going?

Huh? First of all, how was he meant to expect it? Secondly, Sebastien seemed to jump on the brakes as soon as he saw him (which was what, a split second before impact?) It was a completely blind view for the driver, he only would have known he was there when he was already right in front of him. Its not like he would seen him just before he ran out.
 
I'm surprised they didn't arrest him. Isn't he responsible for the damage he inflicted onto the car?

It looks a bit fishy to me. A cockpit view version of the accident would be nice. :sly:

Evidently not fast enough. The world needs to start eliminating stupid people, so if the guy survived the impact then natural selection has failed.

This wasn't an attempt at overtaking on a course wherein nobody else attempts an overtake. Only one driver has the stones for that.

Now, had it been Schumacher in the car, he'd swerve for somebody just to be an 🤬.

Unbelievable! At least the guy's unlikely to need a camera up his behind when they examine him... they can just tap into the STR feed.

He was probably lucky he caught the camera because if he had have cleared it, he may have been sliced in half by the rear wing end plate.
