I like the futuristic retro look to it, it seems like multiple generations ahead of the old iX3 and it's about time BMW made a new lower cost pure EV platform. I will be impressed if they manage to have no major recalls for this car in its first decade, will show great engineering prowess if they pull it off. Hopefully they don't rest on their laurels but continue to improve as this might be the new standard for BMWs for a long time so a landmark car.

I feel like this is going to be a huge hit and might make other luxury brands in this space scramble to fast-track new developments if their sales fall off a cliff. I think the others would at least have to make big price cuts which they may not be able to afford to do and even if they did, would still remain uncompetitive with what this car offers. Will be interesting to see how Mercedes price the new GLC EV and how that fares against the iX3 as they will be releasing in the same year and both much needed new platforms for their respective manufacturers. Both should do really well in Europe given how outdated some of the current EVs in this space are in terms of technology.

Wonder if they will have much of an impact on Model Y sales once they are out, Tesla probably be hoping to get full self-driving approved ASAP in Europe and UK. In the near future, the Xiaomi YU7 might be dangerous for all of them if they get anywhere near their Chinese prices in Western markets but they will likely have tariffs to save them.
