Vote with your channel changers and don't watch programming you don't enjoy.

As for the change in format, they air what gets the highest ratings, because this is what generates the highest ad income. If you don't enjoy NASCAR then you probably won't enjoy programming devoted to recapping the week's races and discussion of them or programs on the lifestyle etc. of racers, team owners, etc.

If the programming wasn't about NASCAR, but was about a sport you really enjoyed, would you still complain about there being too much of that sport's coverage, or just enjoy it?

 Your comments, rolling your eyes notwithstanding, make little sense. What is the likely basis for television programming? You put on shows to attract viewers, the more viewers you have the more you are able to charge advertisers to place their ads in your program. So, while you personally may not enjoy most or even all of the programming on tv - many people do.

Evidence:
Nielsen Media Rating for Week of Jan. 9-15, 2006
2. Desperate Housewives (ABC) - Sunday 9pm - 20% share - 13.9 rating - 15,371,000 households

7. Dancing with the Stars (ABC) - Thursday 8pm - 18% share - 11.4 rating - 12,615,000 households

There are an estimated 110.2 million television households in the USA. A single ratings point represents 1%, or 1,102,000 households for the 2005-06 season. Share is the percentage of television sets in use tuned to a specific program.

💡 So, not enough of you are chosing not to watch.

I'd like to see more of the JGTC. But Speed is an American channel, and Americans like NASCAR more than anything else. (I don't like NASCAR very much because of the Chase for the Cup, among other things. It makes it even less pure as a sport. It does have good entertainment value, though.) So Fox would probably ignore the petition if they ever see it.

Personally, I didn't think there was that much NASCAR programming. And I would want Fox to get rid of Texas Hardtails, Unique Whips and Lost Drive-In.

I think a Speed TV International or something like that would be a good idea. That way we could watch less of NASCAR and more of other worldwide motorsports series.

I placed my signature in the petition just the other day. I also plan to ask my dad and brother to do the same.
