In March, Audi officially confirmed it would reveal the sport 2007 Audi S3 compact car this fall. But according to new spy photos from AutoExpress, Audi’s A3 hotrodding won’t end there. New images show what the magazine claims is an even more powerful 2008 Audi RS3, mildly disguised as an Audi race car. The RS3 is expected to offer somewhere around 350 horsepower, according to the report, compared to 240 horsepower for the S3. With the S3 due this fall, the RS3 isn’t likely until about a year after, the magazine said.

In recent weeks, Mercedes has ramped up testing of its new 2008 C-Class in preparation for an official launch some time next year (possibly at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show). The car has recently been spotted in testing in Europe by spy photographers sporting what seems to be a finalized — albeit camouflaged — design. Yesterday, Leftlane News reader Pietro Devine spotted a very similar car just outside of Philadelphia. To our knowledge, this is the first time the car has been photographed on this side of the Atlantic. It looks like Mercedes is in the latter stages of testing with the car, and we’ll probably see even less disguised prototypes in the near future.

Still think it looks terrific, and I hope this time it'll be up there with the Evo and STI. C Class looks as bland as ever though.

OMG the RS3 is gonna be hawt. :D

The Benz looks okay, from what little I can tell. Hopefully they won't give it the Bangle butt and son-of-RX-8 fenders from the S Class. :yuck: 👎
Oh well, maybe if they offer a BluTec 4-banger-powered wagon for under $30k... :drool: :D
 
The edit button is broken. Just wanna add about the C-class. It seems like MB is distancing itself from trying to make the c-class sporty as they have the clk for that so theyre just going for the elgant look ala mini- s-class.
 
THe only thing better would be an RS3 WRC.

I like the New C, myself. sort has a little old C Influence.
 
Wow 320BHP from the hatchback, all I hope now is Audi return to the rally stage.
 
I dont think audi will ever return to the rallying scene incase they dont win. Wouldnt be good for the quattro image at all.
 
RS3 is nice.

I was just reading popular mechanics today and they had a small picture of an undisguised C-class. Not sure if the pic was a render or not but it looks very similar to the S-class. I bet that thing would look just like a mini s class without camo
 
I like the new C-Class, the only problem is that they are often too luxurious and slow to be a direct compeditor to the 3-series, which is a shame. I was looking at a C350 Sport with the manual, and I was really impressed. That was of course, untill I looked at the sticker, and realised that even the base C240 is a better deal at $30K.
 
Audi may as well campaign the RS3 in the SPEED World Challenge. Of course, that spot is currently occupied by the S4 (or did it change to the RS4?), but change is good, and I'd love to see the RS3 go for it. Otherwise, you could just run the RS3 in the B-Class series in the SCCA...

The RS3 looks great and just be pretty fast... time to get some tuning for my car before I meet those ( living 20 miles away from Ingolstadt so I should meet them quite regulary...).
The MB is sothing special so far, but I guess we should wait for the final design on some car show.... those taped beta cars always look bad
 
With more than 500HP, this car is going to be crazy. There isnt any way around it... It is just too bad Mercedes wont use a manual transmission in the car, because that would just kick-ass...
 
Mercedes is really starting to annoy me. All their AMG cars do one thing well: go fast and straight. I personally like my cars to go around turns and go fairly fast. They're missing half the equation.
Speakin of hot handling, I think I'm in love with you after seeing that RS3. Gorgeous! I just hope I had about 50K layin around and I'd go snatch up the first one. Damn!

It's kind of amusing that Mercedes-Benzes, particularly AMG ones, are pretty much just German muscle cars... :lol:
