Hope some of you can give me some answers to this issue and i'm sure i'm not the only one with this problem but when using g27 wheel in a rwd/mr car going around the carousel I will always spin out..with a control pad it would be fine, offline wheel/pad no problem, but online i can't do it for the life of me and i'm sure there's gotta be some way around it..

if any of you could help shed some light onto this issue and a solution that would be greatly appreciated

Cheers!

so your only solution is to go slow?? i would rather just up the carousel than risk going slow around it cuase it can still cat you....I think i've seen a couple people online who have no problems with going around carousel although i'm not certain if they're using pad or not..

Handling characteristics are different between on and off line. You make no reference to the setup of your car(s), have you checked the suspension to see if there's an issue..?? The Carousel places your suspension under high and unusual loads, as I'm sure you're aware...

If you try and drive around it on the correct line with a wheel you spin out every time :(
During my FGTC race I had to resort to going around the outside of the banked concrete section. It felt totally wrong but it was faster than spinning out or going ridiculously slow.
In offline mode I can hammer round it and slingshot out too, nothing like it in online :grumpy:

I have a g27. Used to have this prob. Usually when going over speeds of 110kph.
I keep my car around 90-100kph in 2nd gear. Problem solved. That's the only part of the nordburg that I'm extra cautious at.

I have this problem too however I use a pad, I also spin at the other banked turn (left hander before the straight) esp when I'm in my NSX/370Z.

Really annoying :(

Keep your speed around 90kph.

You might go faster, but it requires some "movement" on the wheel, I mean, you can't just go through faster than 100kph with single sweep.

And right, going round the outside feels wrong. The concrete is like the red carpet :)

Online you have less rear grip and total grip in general. For that particular corner you have to retune the car with more rear grip, either with a wing or by adjusting your suspension. Some positive rear toe might help to keep it in a straight line, not sure. Might help to try it with the suspension load indicators on as you may be bottoming out at some points and may need to raise the whole suspension. The tools are in the game to fix it, you just need to experiment.

Car is probably a bit to low and is bottoming out. You also can't trail brake at ALL coming into that corner, brake earlier and have the car 'settled' before you enter - if you are sliding at all on entry you'll spin or at the very least do a tail whip which will almost stop you. Need to have a gentle entry as well, don't jerk the wheel, feed it into the entry, you'll feel the car kind of settle, then you can give it a bit of gas, and be ready to nail it on the way out.

Your right but the problem I found with that is I tuned the car to take that corner but the other 12 miles or so I was losing 15 seconds. I switched to my proper tune and just accepted I would have to go round the outside :(
I was ashamed to do this but this problem really feels like a glitch while driving online.

Maybe a tyre temperature difference? I've had many people complaining about accidents because of cold tires.

But your tyres would be warm by the time you did get to the Karussell. It's literally past the halfway point on the track, you'd have easily warmed up your tyres by then.

Okay well at least I'm not the only one with this problem. I use a DS3 though...

Seems to be very tricky to master online...👍

Yea i go around it now as well but I'm losing precious time going up on it as well...i'll try going at 90km/h, see how that fairs, it's around the same speed as going up on top of it

Anyways thanks for all your comments, bad news is you just gotta take it slow, good news is everyone will most likely have this problem unless you are running 4wd/ff

thanks for all the insight, hope this topic will prove useful to others out ther having the same problem, cheers!

I've had:yuck: this same problem plaguing me for a very long time, until I finally learnt a new proper and confident:sly: approach to the rotary sidewalk:

don't approach it straight on:tdown: (not from your approaching line from 4s ago) (you can do this offline, but not online)

instead - you must go far right of the available track, and come in wide:tup:, then gently introduce a tire at a time into it. as soon as you rediscover the awesomeness of it all:idea:, you can start testing inputs throughout, but just come in from far right into apex:sly:. Don't approach straight on.:yuck:

Happy 105+km/hr through it!:dopey:👍:scared: (Blast out around :sick:125km+)

oh, and +.40 rear toes do wonders too. (for single lap races)

no more banana peels.

MR cars in particular can be tricky on it. you can easily upset the balance of the car by completely lifting off mid-turn (ie. lift off over steer) if you come in too hot. don't even think of trail braking.

i have learned that a steady throttle so that you are neither accelerating or decelerating through the apex will net the best results/highest speeds. easier to achieve with pedals but totally doable if you program your ds3 for the analog buttons or right stick to control the throttle. either way, you'll definately need to practise this.

I now use a DFGT, but I think it is similar.
Really, don't use to much steering input. If you do it will spin.
On some cars I use 3rd gear, helps the car understeer more, making it easy.
Engine braking can also kill, so I will wait be for downshifting.
Don't go full throttle, 50 to 80%.

I always up shift one gear on the rwd/mr cars. It keeps from being so responsive to the gas...but I also use a ds3 so its different.
