Turned on ps4 with the, today we have gr3 at Suzuka, great, I know the cars, I know the track, I'm B driver.
Login and there is no time to qualify, no problem I can start last and have fun in the back and maybe recover some positions.
No way, race starts and is like driving on ice, I can't turn, after half lap I'm almost 4 sec behind slower driver.

Ok, I can recover if I don't pit, fuel map on 5. No way, car keeps sliding, I rise tcs from 2 to 3, keeps sliding, I'll 10 secs behind, rage quit.

I already noticed that if you start without a time car is undrivable, i'm I the only?

I've started without qualifying and not noticed any difference, but I still did the pre race warm up, I've never not driven out of the pits pre race.
Did you get on track before the race started?

Edit : if i drive gr3 after doing laps in gr4, I need a few corners to remember I cant plant the throttle. Could it be that? - oh you didnt do any driving before joining...
no ideas from me.

I do the warm-up and it was the same. I've noticed this before.
You jump in and you are 3 secs slower, do a few lap to qualify, start in the mid pack 2 or 3 secs faster.
I got this feeling that somehow grip changes based on your laps or starting position.
It's not affected by the grip bug thread, I've noticed this before.
Try a different account and jump in without a qualifying time please

Sorry, do you have a qualifying time, maybe made few hours before?

I was talking from past experience, I'll give it a go tomorrow on my 2nd account if I remember, and no one else has tested by then..

Thanks a lot. maybe it's just me. As soon as I have time I will do the same.
But I already have my idea so it will be hard not to be influenced while dirving...

I've not noticed any difference but I can't remember if they fixed the tyre bug where you end up with sports tires and not racing tyres so it could be that

Really there is this kind of bug? I did not check what kind of tyres I wa susing, but that could be a very good explanation.

I think that bug has been fixed. I don't run the warm-up sometimes, haven't had any issues.

Speakin of...

Maybe its just me but I also "feel" like there is a grip change when i do qualifying time by myself, vs actual race/warm up. whether it be GT3 or GT4 cars. As if the road surface is slightly greasy. Could be just me lol

I think this has to do with fuel load. I think that it takes the weight into account only when racing. Solo qualy is like empty. The car feels more responsive. Stops faster... turns faster without sliding too much.

It very well could be. I never paid attention to the fuel load in qualifying runs or race/warm up. Now next time i play, I've gotta remember to check up on that thank you.

It shows full tank, but I think it shows full when consumption is disabled. Tires are also shown as “full”/new, even though they will not wear out.

If you look at the race details for today's Suzuka race it says conditions clear. Now look at the time trials in arcade and to choose "clear" conditions it is either early morning or late evening time frames that weather condition is available. So track temps are not optimum for grip and at race start tires are not fully to race temps either so it does feel slick as heck for the first lap or two.

Also the car does feel heavier and harder to turn or stop compared to qualifying until after you have run about 3 laps and burnt off some fuel. Granted you are starting to get tire wear by then though.

If you pit on lap 5 take tires and just enough fuel to finish the race when you exit the pits then the car on new tires with a partial load of fuel feels more like the car you qualified with.

Not saying this is the way it is but as good an explanation as I can figure out why the differences.

Ok, Thanks all it was my fault.
Just used the Porsche 911 Gr3 for interlagos and it was so slippery, then I realized that the tyres were "intermidiate".
I wonder why...
Switched back to Hard and i was fast (slow...) as usual!
