Nobody said you cant drift sport tires. You just cant join tandem rooms with them.

Okay now i want you to make a video of a AE86 with sport mediums drifting the same section and i want you to connect all corners to the tunnel. Okay go!

on this note - what are good entry and exit speeds? I'm guessing that the folks that are initiating a drift at 130 mph on Tsukuba are using sports tires.

I can put together some good looking drifts but I tend to be slower than most. I have found a few good rooms with adults and done some nice tandem runs but of course there are always a few folks that fly by going into the first turn doing 80.

For the record - I'll enter all turns at Tsukuba at about 65 mph and exit at angle at about 30-35 mph. The last big turn I'll hit it about 85. Please note that these speeds allow me to get clean runs on the inside lines of the turns.

Am I REALLY slow by comparison?

All that fuss for that?
INDEED?
Show us how you drift with you sports hard, I bet it looks boring and that you can't link half of the corners of any track.
I actually laughed at your posted made out of pictures!
Now show how it really looked with a video.

No u, how about you do that same corner with F40 with CH's at the same speed? Your post was completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

CH's

Edit: It was no where near. Anyone can drift with lots of power on Sport tires. I wanna see you do it in a 230 hp Levin. Please show me you can do it.

^ That didn't bring anything new to the topic, everyone knows already that you can do silly angles and smoke with CH's.
That creates you a magical permission slip to look down on people who drift with more speed and less angle?

Epic linking fail !

Woah! Someone hold this rolemodel of mature arguementing the **** back! :ouch:

Okay im done in this thread before i go off and get banned. peace out guys

Do a whole lap with your so called F40 (or better a car that is really used for drifting purposes), one corner is irrelevant anyone can do the same and call it a day.

So you're basically saying that CH's are easier to drift with, but at the same time people using CM/CS/Sports tyres so called noobs?

Did I not just drift the damn thing? sigh... gt5=/=irl

I'm not trying to prove how "awesome" I am, I'm just proving it is possible to drift with sports, don't overkill the arguement in making me drift ae86 with racing softs...

Im not sure if im lost or not....but still dont see a video of a Levin with sport tires drifting and connecting corners? Its hard enough having CH on a levin and connecting long corners with thoughs. Try doing it with Sports :sly:

There is no reason to call people silly!

As said alot times before:
The big GT5 drifting community with the best GT5 drifters in the world included use comfort hard tires! They are the most usual and beloved tires and give the best drift handling.
It is like it is. Nobody prohibits to drift with sport tires but you have to adapt yourself if you want to join the bigger GT5 drift scene. I've heard from alot of drifters that they can't imagine how they drifted with sport tires before because comfort hards feel so much better and are more fun

Yeah I get what you are saying BUT I just can't get around the point that I drift in real life and on Sport Tires. In Competition Drift the whole point is SPEED, Angle and Line none of which I can achieve on Comfort tires unless I'm driving a Bone stock car. The second I'm over 300HP either I have to sacrifice entry speed, or I have to go less than full throttle through the turns, which goes against everything i learned while Drifting. FYI my old real life car Is a 1985 Toyota Corolla GTS(Trueno/Levin in Japan) and I ran Falken Ziex sport tires with no problem. It just comes down to preference. People also ran Comfort/Stock tires but it serves a two-Fold purpose, one they are cheaper and two they last longer. Trust me comfort users try out Sport hards at the Least and you'll notice you can get more aggressive angle, and faster entries.

Those tires a all season performance lol. Now maybe if they were Falken Azenis rt615's then we can talk. 👍

^"lost or not" Since when this was a competition?
I haven't seen you drift a x2010 with CH's yet either :indiff:

Troll.

I'd go out on a limb and say that any tire is on a showroom floor is a "comfort" tire IRL.

He said he wasn't sure "if I am lost or not." That does not imply a competition. By this time it would appear that you are just trolling.

Noone said anything about you drifting on racing sorts with a fiat 500 so why would you bring up an x2010 on CH's?

An F40 is a mid engined, powerful car. Physics dictate (in real life and in game) that it is more likely to lose rear traction when decelerating. What's being asked of you is to show a video of a mildly powered FR car that is a common drifter. Rx7's, AE86's, Sylvia's etc all will do. If you are not able to post a video at this time, simply say so and don't retaliate.

You have yet to make an intellectual argument. The very basis of your thread was merely complaining about people disparaging the use of sports tires. Any complaint about people in general is bound to start an argument.

Also, the topic of what comfort and sports tires in game are comparable to in real life has been covered MANY times in the other subforums of GTP.

GT5 and RL im sorry are 2 different things. Although they are trying their hardest to make it as real as possible, they are still off on some stuff.

"Noone said anything about you drifting on racing sorts with a fiat 500 so why would you bring up an x2010 on CH's?"

Noone said anything about drifting mildly powered 80's corolla with sports medium tyres. If I had to drift AE86, my tyre of choice would probably be CS's.
Why did you expect me to be elitist about sports tyres?

Simply because the tone of your original post was very aggressive and condescending. You stated that people have a problem with Sports tire which is a generalization and thus can be offensive.

You also said "Most comfort tire users are way too slow and take the worse line possible" which is just downright insulting to anyone who uses comfort tires. Drifting with comfort tires may be easier to lose traction in the rear, but it is much harder to maintain traction in the front and thus maintain the proper line. The best drifters maintain angle, speed, and line.

I never expected you to be anything, stop directing your statements at people. It sounds accusatory which is why people are quick to retaliate.

Nothing is wrong with using any tires to drift. It's your game, play it your way.

So basically you only use sports tires on cars that you can't control on comfort tires ;)

So basically I choose my tyres depending on the car. How is that a bad thing? Every little silly sod can burnout with CH's with huge angle...

Umm, why dont you take a quick look back at the thread, I'm not OP. You know, you could pay attention to the poster's name.
Are you implying that you dont see the crap that people get online if they drift other than CH's?
e: ye ye, soz4doublepost and all

My mistake, I'm not trying to attack you there's no reason to say that. And I'm sorry, last time I checked "you silly elitists" is not exactly playing nice. You are just as guilty of giving people crap if you say stuff like that.

^ Oh but my crap is directed to people who did it first. I didn't point my finger at anyone specific while saying silly elitists, they just figured it themselves :indiff:

I've to change lobbys because people restrict tyres in open lobbies as soon as they see me using anything above CH's and I've had to change server several times in a row because of this. Even though I have been drifting and not once hit anyone.

then create your own rooms and make the title Sport tire drifting or something. You will find people who agree with your tire choice join your room. Dont get offended by what people do with "their" lobbies. The reason why people stay in that lobby with the tire restriction is because they are happy with the fairness level and are obviously having fun. I believe its time for this thread to kick closed down.

No, you see, saying you silly elitists is a statement directed toward the people who have already posted. And just because someone insulted you first does not make it okay to insult them back. Oh and NOONE DID.

I'm sorry for what you've suffered in the world of GT5 online, but why don't you start your own room? In fact, why don't you start a thread on here where everything is allowed as long as people are drifting nicely (not hitting each other etc.). I bet you'll find a group of like-minded people that will thoroughly enjoy the idea of being able to drift however they want on whatever tires they want.

EDIT: TREEEEEEE'D :p

^ At one point I tried that, but I dont have all day to wait for someone to join. More people in public lobbies.
Time to kick closed this thread? Is anyone less agressive towards non-ch users due to this thread? If not, it did not serve it's purpose :indiff:

As I said before, go and explore different styles, the game is your oyster.
