I saw a thread about sport tires but it's not exactly what i'm asking and the thread is pretty old so I don't want to "bring it back to life" because if i'm correct it's not proper forum etiquette. :D

My question to you guys is do you use street tires on street legal cars or do you use racing soft tires? I began using street tires on street legal cars after I saw multiple people doing it as well as popular tuning garages and i'd have to say that they are much more realistic and fun! 👍

Edit: I do use racing soft tires on race cars such as the Castrol Supra.

Yes I do for the most part. $30,000 racing tires take away the realism in my opinion.

Depends on why im driving.
Need quick cash..... race tires. Want to have a decent race then comparable tires to the comp. If i am very underpowered ill make up for it w tires sometimes.

Ot: i find the thread rivival thing quite funny. Its not proper to revive old threads but you will also get lambasted withthe " use the search" posts if you post something that can be found by searching. Even if it is a dead thread. Cant win. Sometimes it seems like people dont like to talk about things on a discussion board sometimes :)

Well I guess if the mods think it's that much of a problem they'll lock it.

Edit: But yes I do agree with what your saying Caz! :)

It depends. I use Racing Softs when I'm grinding or hot lapping. And I use Sports when I want a challenge. However, I prefer Racing tires, but I sometimes use Sports for more careful & clean driving.

I don't think the "revive thread" idea is improper forum etiquette. I think adding the link to this "inspired" thread will be more proper.

Online, I will use the maximum tires permitted in the lobby. I'm happy with Sports tires on my street cars, but I'm not giving away the race by not running the fastest tires.

Offline, I match whatever the A-spec cars have: Comfort, sports, or racing. I rarely use racing soft tires unless I'm in a seriously underpowered car.

Offline I use Racing Hard on racing cars and whatever came stock.
Online I'll push my street cars up to Sport Soft and only join races where that is the maximum, then I get beat as all the street cars have stupid after market wings and racing transmissions.

When you mention the Supra, I did an online race today with Sports Mediums on it and they were perfectly fine for the car - try it, you'll be surprised... I know I was!

If it isnt a race car then i dont see the need for anything other than sports softs. Having said that i also put the RS on my cars just to see where they stack up against race cars and the sort. I started using SS when the online lobbys were using them, makes the cars much more fun to drive and im addicted to it.

If I have the car tuned to be a no-exceptions race car, I put RS on it. If I have the car tuned to be a road car, I put SS on it. Since I own multple copies of several cars, I generally have one tuned to be as fast as possible, and one tuned to be as fun to drive as possible. The former gets the RS, the latter gets the SS.
