This should be a poll.

I like the UK one better, it is cleaner and I like left-hand side menus.

that's the problem, the u.k. have a better website, better games, better everything. and to top it all off, GT Prologue is coming out, while us Americans get nothing decent...........why:banghead:

Because America and everybody who lives here, unless they were born in another country, sucks. Duh.
What if it wasn't us that sucked or the country that sucked? What if what sucked actually was good? What if what is good is bad? What if the square root of all evil was humanity?

btw, The UK one : )

let's not turn this political, but what if the reason is us the american players who are not conveying interest in the quality of games that we have. don't you think that we should demand a higher quality of games. and demand that we receive the same games that other gamers acroos the globe are getting.
it should be quality rather than quantity:D

Don't you think we should demand a higher quality in health insurance? Automobiles on the road? Housing? Government Structure? Political Actions? Monitary foundation? Employment? I mean, you can use that arguement in any country with anything.

i uterly support with what you are saying, but the trip of a thousand miles starts with a step. the things that you have mentioned are all true, but just looking at them is overwhelming. in the meantime let's start with video games:D

Good use of a chinesse proverb, Every journey whether it be 1 mile or a million miles begins with the first step. . . I think video games would be a progression of what we need to start with. I think family values is a good start, actually let us get a little more specific. Why not start will personnal values on how we treat each other. I beleive that is the first "baby step" needed in this world. To tell the truth, I should take my own advicce with that, because I have been known to just blow things out of proportion and over-react, but I am trying to fix that within myself. I have hurt those that are real close to me at one point or another doing this.

There are many things here in the U.S. that I would love to have. The Focus RS, A Japanesse spec Evolution 5, so on and so forth. I also know video games that are not here in the states that I want. It is the fact that it is not going to happen with a few people on a message board posting their opinions on it are going to make a difference until we put something together to go to the video gaming companies with, and that is going to be the easiest step of the whole process. . . I don't mean to make you think that I am bashing you in any sort of way, but I am starting to realize how much life can suck at different points, but I am learning to roll with what I have. . .

duke > the menu is always on the left side.
Just beacuse they drive at the wrong side doesn't mean they have the menus at the wong side too ;)

uuhh, i am speechless here. it's like you are talking about me man. the focus rs, i blasted ford with an e-mail regarding the cosworth edition that we americans don't get even though the car is owned by an american compay. lancer evo, i e-mailed them many times blasting the mirage that we had over here in favor of the lancer; and i guess it worked:D and the evo that i would like to own one day would be the evo 6 tommi makinnen edition:D sweet. regarding contacting the video games companies, i e-mail them every now and then, half of them don't even bother writing back. the other half say thank you for you'r interest and goodbye:odd:
i know there are alot of things that suck but oh well, like you said you have to work with what you have:D

Both of those sites both have many problems, though the U.K. site is definitely the lesser of the two evils.

From a visual design standpoint, the U.S. site is simply awful. The 3-column design sucks, the whole "cutout" scheme is stupid and confusing, and there are way too many unnecessary elements (especially those purple bars). At the top, they establish yellow/red as the "link" colors and purple as unclickable, but then farther down the page, purple/red are the link colors, and yellow is unclickable.

The blue dotted bars are there for no reason – In particular, look at the one underneath "Featured Cool Move" – It isn't separating the picture from anything at all.

Also, there are two main navigation bars, and several minor navigation bars. From a UI design standpoint, that's a huge no no.

Though the U.K. website is a lesser offender (the navigation bar is very good, and their three-column design works wonderfully), it still has a number of issues. The brown navigation bar at the top, in particular the drop-down menu, have seemingly unrelated things (not to mention not conforming to the rest of the site's design).

There isn't an obvious link color – You've got some white links, some black links, and some image links. There needs to be a dominating color. Also, the Register and Login links use a modified guillemet (also known as double quotation marks, normally used in French), and are white, yet are unclickable. Yet, the search box uses the guillemets as the only way to click. Inconsistent.

From a coding perspective, both sites are downright awful, though in this case the U.K. site is actually worse, since it has a million of scripts imbedded in totally random parts of the code. I won't bore you already bored folk with a deeper analysis of the source code or the total lack of semantics.

Is there such thing (wait a sec before you flame me) Because with cars the indicators and stuff are on opposite sides so are the clutch, throttle and front-brake switched from one side to the other or something?
