What is Initial D, and who is Takumi? This is the third thread I've read which referenced Initial D. Pardon my ignorance.

Initial D is a Japanese animation based on story of Keiichi (name? Drift King, also known as one of the Judge from D1 gp) and Takumi is the main guy from that animation who started out with an AE86 and just keep on beating everyone downhill.

ok, it makes more sense now. Thanks

Unless you are planning to race single seaters on a circuit, buying one is out of the question. However, in the TRD catalog, it is possible to purchase the Group A engine internals for either a 16 valve or 20 valve, but blueprinting and assembling the block is another matter....by the time you can amass the complete parts together, you would have spent enough money to buy a Evo 9!

As for the GT4 SS AE86, keep looking in Used A every day...its bound to show up.....I have myself come across it 10 times already....so keep looking.
any idea what day?
right now im around 450

It's in Used Cars B, not A. And for the day - check one of the multiple used car lists (my day 1-140 Japanese one, jkrobby's day 1-595 American one or my currently-day-1-525 PAL one).

Does anybody know if the SS vesion drifts better with NA tuning or Turbo? I'm drifting it with max turbo upgrade available and it doesn't have enough torque down low to initiate or even hold the drift. It just bogs unless I'm over 8,000 rpm. It says I've got 315bhp don't know about torque. Anybody know what's going on?

I've never tried it, but my guess is that you have to tune the suspension and brake balance, it helps. Off topic, I found out that MR2 GT-S 97 (from used II) is extremely easy to drift with, you may want to give it a try.

Yes sorry, its Used Car B. Not A...keep getting confused. Anyway, Chevguy Initial D is the hottest Japanese animation to hit the west yet...check it out...I believe Tokyo pop had the anime and comics....if you like cars, you will like Initial D.

The serect to make good use of the SS AE86 without turbo is to change the gear ratios to a shorter set. Make it at around 18-20 and change the final drive to 4.675 (this is the TRD official ratio, I had one on my real AE86) This way it will make use of the upper range of the powerband. In fact if you look at the power/torque curve in the setup mode, you will see why.

Suspension wise, use:

Springs
Front: 16-18
Rear: 13-15
Damper: play around, but make sure the rear is 2 points lower that the front.
Rear rebound should be 1 notch more than bound, while front rebound is the same value
Camber Front: 1.7-2.4
Rear: 0! (this is realistic on a real AE86, as the solid axel shafts cannot be adjusted)

Old pic Right here:

i LOVE that trueno in that pic, looks like tsuchiya's one, , i need a levin.....
go buy (in gt4) a used ae86 , supercharger, semi racing exhaust, ecu, pp, balancing, oil change, and you will have like 32 kilos of torque!//// drooool

Yeah, I know. I drift the hell out of it.

Anyways, I have the car tuned to the max. It has everything accept tranny. You think that might help by lowering my gear ratios? But yeah I can get it sideways with fient, or braking drift initiation but it bogs out soo bad that I can't hold it long enough to link multiple turns like I can with all the other cars. I know how to drift very well, I'm just asking if you can get more torque out of the 4ag with NA tuning or Turbo.
