I've just recently been promoted to SR S, done 6 races so far at that SR level, and I'm not sure if it's just bad luck, or are SR S races often dirtier then lower ratings?

Especially at SR B and SR A I feel I was having a much better experience, cleaner races. Kinda feels like getting to S there are alot of players that drive recklessly because they can't get higher.

Like I said, it's a small sample size so far, but I'm definitely experiencing much more contact, barely holding on to my own SR S atm.

Anyone have similar experience or is it all in my head? :D

Just like any other ranking you get some good clean lobbies and some you wonder how most of the drivers ever got to the ranking. Time of day can affect when more kids or GTA mindset drivers are more prevalent as well in my experiences.

I have been in SR S since game launch and have seen a little of everything within the rank.

If i just speak from my (tiny) experience, i would say, it's much better driving in SR S than A or B. But i saw some races from a friend (live), and there was a lot of RoadRage involved (SR S).
The ugly road rage... cutting corners, as soon they were in front of him, they made stupid nonsense brakes all the time (that he crashed into them)... SR-Rating ****ed.

But honestly, had better experience in S than elsewhere...
S stands for me as "SERIOUS"

If you wanna go up in DR... race as you would in Real Life, if you can't raise... PRACTICE & get better

I was watching a couple of races with SR D and E drivers, and what struck me was that the cars ghost a lot more in those races.

Every once in a while I drop down to BA, where I'm more likely to be near the front of the pack. In BS I'm in the middle, so the chances of chaos are increased.

If you wanna go up in DR... dirty driving is recommended... (i never said that)

Haha, well I'll rather stay in lower DR and try my best at racing carefully, although I believe both can co-exist :P

Maybe I need to focus more on the longer races (Race C). A lot of players seem to have a super short fuse in Races A and B :D

I've had the same experience, although it also depends on the track and especially matchmaking.

At B/S you get matches with DR.S to DR.D since the SR.S pool is a lot smaller. The large difference in skill and speed causes more incidents. It's also very difficult to grab a win in B/S with fast DR.S/DR.A players at the front, which breeds more desperate moves.

I've lowered my SR before to SR.B to get cleaner races. Draft bumping on Bluemoon bay is a good way to do that. Yesterday the FIA Bluemoon bay race brought me down to SR.A again, result better matchmaking, easier to get out clean.

And indeed people are also still trying to increase their SR, in SR.S all you need to aim for a white S or red then blue again to stay there. Yet why you want to stay there to get worse matchmaking with people that are fine with the occasional intentional hit? When I get hit nowadays and end up with a red S at the end, I only anticipate better match making. As a result I'm guilty as well of not backing off anymore. Drive into to me if you want, I'm not getting out of the way as any SR Down is fine with me. I still drive clean, just don't give room to people trying to cut me off anymore.

I also recently came up to SR S, and I've noticed the same as the OP. Some lobbies are great, but for the most part, its a demo derby....

Coincidentally, I just posted THIS thread

There's validity to what the OP posted. In the lower SR ranks, players are trying to get into the upper ranks to get some better racing. However, given how easy it is to get to SR-S and how difficult it is to drop out of it, I think a bunch of truly dirty drivers are occupying the lower SR-S spots.

You REALLY have to torpedo someone to lose rank. Broadside bump and runs in the corners and love taps off the track are currently grossly under penalized. Even if you manage to get a 5 second penalty, you can run it off and you don't lose much SR at all.

You're (in my opinion), a very good guy. I also don't care about my DR, as long the race is immersive (as real as possible)
If i go lower than C (i'm in C), i don't care... as long it don't start to be a bumper-car game...
I thought a lot about this... take YOUR Car on a Track, and then show me if you drive the same way... (if i drive against crashkiddies)

You're cool !!!

(EDIT: focus on longer races...
absolutly... they offer you their positions all the time, most of them are just really bad drivers, stay behind them... ((really close)) they'll freak out and miss the breaking points... thats a fun game :-)

If you cannot advance your DR driving clean you do not DESERVE TO ADVANCE!

Most people talk about SR and DR both as if it a level you gain like in a Mario Game. These rankings are only for the purpose of DR which is mainly concerning speed and consistency in driving in driving from lap to lap. SR is strictly about control and incident severity and frequency regarding contact with other cars, walls and off track excursions.

A player playing GTS actually does both themselves and the people they race with a favor to ignore the rankings and race to your best pace with few incidents and let the ranking correctly place you in races with other drivers that race similar to how you race.

As far as placing you in the right rankings that is something the game seems to do well.

It only becomes a problem when a players ego keeps saying he is a better racer than how the game ranks him and they start gaming the system to advance and find the higher rankings they are over their head trying to maintain the average pace in those lobbies so they become the ones that cause problems within the race .

Thats perfectly said !!! I'll edit my **** out, but it's easy to "exploit" the game that way. It has to be overthinked...
DR / SR rating (it's also too easy to get into SR-S)

((EDIT: Perhabs you missunderstood what i said, i hate (sorry, i don't like) CrashKiddies, but theres an easy way to raise up in DR, i don't like it. But if you want to raise withouth honor, there's a (badly) way to do)
i know, next time i STFU... don't give advice for such s***.
Sorry

Except it does not do that. I belong in B/S and continually get mismatched races of DR.S to DR.D. Lowering SR gives matches that are closer in pace, yet not for no contact racing. It becomes a problem when I get tired of being grid filler for DR.S/DR.A drivers and not get to finish daily C races due to the 40s timeout.

Lowering SR increased my DR, now I'm 23% into DR.A again. (Lowered by FIA Bluemoon, not dirty driving) First I was the rabbit as A/A is very sparsely populated. Now I'm A/S and don't know yet how that will go. Suddenly there are a lot of DR.S drivers around, back to starting at the back dodging accidents.

I always race to my best pace, yet the system can't place me, it keeps thing interesting and varied. I do detest hot lapping though, qualifying is secondary and usually don't bother to if I'm only going to do a few races. Which is the primary reason my DR is a roller coaster.

Once my kids are done with Fortnite I'll find out how the today's daily B goes in A/S.

The easy way to raise DR is don't race until your qualifying time gives you a top 5 starting position.
