Dodge Viper srt-10 burned, because of the ''devil'' plates :D

This was a Dodge Viper in Russian city Kostroma. And it carried plates with “666″ number. Some may not liked it too much considering it to be devil’s breed.

Some people have no sense. I'd like to set those people on fire who set that car on fire and see how they like it. I feel bad for the owner, but maybe his/her insurance will cover it--or he/she is so rich that they won't care.

 Theres some crazy people out there.

Whats the viper made of? Plastic? How did all the panels melt away like that

Yeah it appears from some random sources that they are made of plastic.

Pretty harsh thing to do though, I thought it was a racist slur when I clicked on the thread.

Ah, so when people crash cars we should hit them with hammers. Perfect.

In any case, they only burned it because they were commies. But, I wonder how much money one would need before the owner would part with the engine.

lol it was set on fire because it was a dodge viper in russia. the plates had nothing to do with it.

ultra expensive cars, driven within poverty = cause for trouble.

in the UK it would have been keyed, in germany the windows would have been smashed, in russia it was set on fire, tough luck :S

but it is a sad sight cause its a nice car...

lol you make uk sound weak, i think you mean itd get keyed, smashed windows, driven reckelssly by 14 year old chavs, run over a few pensioners/children, destroyed gardens and a few walls, used in a newsagents robbery, toyed around in a sainsburys car park at 3am, wrapped around a lamppost, then set on fire

I died a little inside. Thanks stupid ass people for killing a perfectly good Viper.

People... Intense fire + lightweight material = melted car. :grumpy:

Yes we should, if those said drivers who wrecked the car also stole the car to begin with. These are vandals that burned this car, they deserve what happends to them. I don't care if it was a Vauxhall Astra, my disgust still stands. If you bought a motorcycle (like you said you wanted to in your thread) and someone torched it wouldn't you feel a bit angry and want some revenge?

I hate the impovered village folk of that small Russian village. They killed a Viper for an extremely dumb reason. That makes no sense to me.

We don't actually know the full story on this.

For someone to have wealth like that in what some of you appear to be calling a predominatley poor area it could very well have been made through illegal actions and affecting many people's lives. This may not be a random attack upon some blasphemur but a revenge attack against the owner.

Yeah sorry, when I said it would be keyed I meant in the nicest possible area of the UK where there is no crime etc... ;)

Don't be too surprised, look what happened to the metal at the north tower after a kerosene fire...

Hey I had a vauxhall astra, it was a great car! :grumpy:

Mind you I feel all the pain for the people who love vipers so much. I found it hard to look at crashed carrera gts... Just go and watch some videos of it racing, that'll put a smile back on your heart :)

You don't make money in Russia without stepping on a few toes. I bet it was torched in revenge not because of envy.

It also looks like the fire started in the engine bay. Perhaps it just burnt itself down to the ground?

One thing i don't get - why didn't the rubber tyres melt???

As far as I know rubber tyres don't really melt. They will deform in high temperatures, but not melt, they sort of smoulder instead.

That, and there's quite abit of metal in a modern tyre so it would really have to melt for it to literally fall off the alloy.

I can also only assume that the tyres are also run flats as you'd expect them to at the very lease deflate.

Poor bastards...damn, I don't know about them but I'd be in tears if someone did that to my Viper...some people take little things too seriously...

Hey I had a vauxhall astra, it was a great car!

Better a Vauxhall than a Puegeot

If you look at a site like Wrecked Exotics, you'll see that most car fires do result in burnt tyres - these look like they could go straight onto another car :odd:

*edit* - actually, looking at that site it would appear that for modern cars at least, the tyres don't seem flamable at all. Strange.

One of my cars in FM2 has a 666 rating, I'm thinking of racing online with it to see if I get belted or kicked. :dopey:

Hundred bucks says it had something to do with more then just what was on the plates. Driving a car like that in Russia means you're most likely doing something that someone doesn't like or wants to hurt you for and i'm guessing it had more to do with that than anything.

Vipers were equipped with run flats until the new 2008 model. Or so I've read. I would think that run flats would be more resistent to fire. Aparentely they are.

Yeah, I'd probably be angry. And I'd probably try to get them arrested. But to want physical harm done to them? Especially for something as common as a Viper? I'd wait until the insurance check came in the mail and would forget about it.
Its a car. Nothing to get anyone hurt phyisically over. And considering where it is, there is a pretty good chance it is owned by someone who wasn't exactly a Boy Scout in the first place.

Especially for something as common as a Viper?.

common? where do you live, in the dodge assembly plant.

If someone torches an EXPENSIVE item of yours, im pretty sure that the rage is going to get to you, and your going to a least wish a little harm on the person who did it.

here here!

i think this thread's getting a little aggressive.

if your car gets torched thats fine because the insurance company gives you a new one. if its an irreplaceable limited edition or a classic then that's worse. but material possessions can be replaced. so don't sweat! :)

yeah it sucks, but its nothing to waste your time on idiots over ;)

It's a Dodge Viper, in Russia. The pure logistics of getting that thing there was probably bad enough first time round let alone having to do it again after someone torches it.

I wouldn't assume anything about the driver, he could be a legitimate business owner you know. And Vipers are anything but common--in America much less Russia. And I don't know how car insurance works in Russia--but what if there is a chance that he won't get a check in the mail? And lastly, could you imagine if you had a car that you loved beyond any other material possesion you own--and then suddenly it get vandalized and or destroyed? There were 3 cars I've owned where I considered them more than just objects. I loved those cars like I love my friends and family. I considered them as my children. Maybe this Viper owner feels the same way? I do understand your point and agree with it in theory--my emotions wouldn't be so agreeing if someone torched my car. lol

+1 I could only imagine the red tape involved even GETTING an American car into Russia--much less a supercar. :nervous:

It really isn't anything near limited edition. If someone torched my Ferrari California Spyder, I might be a little bit mentally unstable. But a Viper? Just go buy a new one. Have the guy arrested for vandalism or something, but don't whack him.
But lets face it: He obviously wasn't saving coins in his piggy bank for that Viper, or he wouldn't have imported one to Russia nor would he have bought one in the first place. The kind of people who buy and drive impractical, $80,000 sports cars obviously had a large sum of money tucked away somewhere, and he could most likely afford another one even if he didn't get a check in the mail.
I agree that it was probably difficult to get into the country, and that is where most of my sympathy for the guy there, but my sympathy only stretches so far.

Oh, I agree that I'd probably be quite pissed if someone torched even my current car, but I have to say that I personally would step back and say it isn't worth getting violent over.
