I finished the rally races yesterday. I got to the SS Route 5 wet Course, and I remembered the Super License Test for this course with a Trueno. I wonder why this is set as a rally course when you can't even slide on it...?? I even tried using the handbrake with little success to tailfish or drift. I have watched the intro movie several times and I have noticed some race cars running on this course wet. How come there is no normal race on this course. I believe this would be a great challenge with any cars...

Anyone else with opinions please post. :)

trueno cant tailslide.... The cars in the intro are at least 500HP. try using those kind of cars....I am not sure if it will work or not!

Try a GT-One Race Car. It spins! 😈

Okay, I just checked out the info on those 2 races. I see no limitations on car or tires, just the rally license. I was questioning the presence of ss route 5 wet only on rally. I think if that course was randomly thrown in with the professional level races some, that would make for some interesting and great competition. That was what i meant originally, sorry for any confusion :D

I think one of the reasons that SSR5 Wet wasn't a normal race (in a series) is that there are an uneven number of cars compared to other courses (SSR5 Wet has a maximum of only 4 cars, the other tracks have a maximum of 6, so it can maintain the same framerate, I suppose). But you can always play with arcade mode...;)

Try using a rear wheel drive car with front engine like the supera or the viper race cars you should slide with ease.

First off, thank you secretghost. Secondly, I have left arcade untouched for now. I know that time trials must be completed towards 100% of sim mode. Does racing all hard tracks on arcade count towards percentage also, or just unlocking other tracks on arcade? That has been asked already I think, but I don't remember a clear answer being given on that...

Also, I was just racing all rally races with my Evo VI Rally Car that I won on Pro Level. I didn't check out the info before the races since I knew the console would set my dirt tires for all the races. That is the car that would never drift. It had medium racing tires for that race, I just went back and checked.

I tend to leave all settings except the transmission alone. I have seen plenty of talk about turning ASM and TCS off, but I haven't done it........ yet ;)

yes you have to beat all of arcade mode including unlocking all the tracks to get to 100%. I think it counts as like 20 something percent. Whenever you do rally races the tires automaticaly go to rally tires if you have them but not sure about ssr5 yet in rally mode.

FF cars aren't gonna tailslide, because they have the engine over the front and are driven by the front 2 wheels, their instinct is to go straight.4WD's are almost the same but to a lesser degree, they also don't want to turn.FR's and MR's are rear wheel driven and want to oversteer as they have very little weight over the front wheels.
Try taking a 4WD rally car with a rally setup around SS5 in dry conditions and see how it performs. Then,go race around SS5 in the wet, with exactly the same setup. You should find you get much less grip in the wet, just enough for some tail sliding fun. :)
It won't slide as much as on the dirt and gravel as the road surface even when it's wet as the road provide a much more stable surface.

I used to regret having to drive a FR or MR car in GT2, but I prefer them in GT3. No understeer problems, and really no onversteer problems either. My selection for GT2 were the Nismo Race Cars, all 4WD. But in GT3, there are so many MR beauties to choose from.

Ford GT40, Mazda 787B, Toyota GT-One, Nissan R390 LM Race Car, NSX even, I like them all!

I done the first set of Audi TT races last night. I had to adjust to slower speeds and acceleration, and making sure the nose faced curve exits before giving it the gas. But I had no problems, just win by 5 seconds or so

I was exactly the same way in the 1st 2 games i'd driven nothing but 4WD if i could and totally avoid MRs and FRs.But in GT3 i can't stand them and only drive MRs and FR's,cept in 4WD challenge and rallys of course. ;)
