Standard to premium - in our lifetime?

Why is the assumption that working on GT5 takes away from GT6? If they modeled some standards to premium, it means the cars are ready for GT6, simple port over to the next game.

The way I see it, the Jaguar XJR-9 is now ready for GT6, thanks to having being modeled already, same with all the already in-game premiums.

Seriously, I don't want another ported game. I want a new GT6 game, because it's going to be the same thing all over again then.

GT6 will have better 'premiums' than the premiums in GT5, and the ported cars that get converted in GT5 will become 'standards' for that console. Same thing all over again.

Maybe if they didn't feel the need to include 80 species of Skylines, Imprezas, Evos, etc. they could focus on less cars that look far better. That's what I want in GT, not standards.

The only thing that need upgrading on current premiums is their damage modeling though at least from what I see.

That and the issue of looking into the rear view mirrors on some premiums.

Other then that need to spread the love to other car companies as you were saying instead of the 80 species of Skylines, Imprezas, Evos not that they look bad, but it's like focus on something else already.

yes, but don't forget they had to do alots of other things. because the whole game was new. For GT6 they'll use GT5 as base, that's a difference.
800 of the cars were imported directly from the PSP. So it took them 6 years for 200+ cars. How long do you think its going to take them to do the other 800 cars? Exactly. It still going to be a LONG time before those cars are finished.
Agreed GT5 is now the base just like how GT1 and GT3 were bases for GT2 and GT4.

Truthfully I think we'll be in for a big treat come GT6 or at least I hope so.
Only 200+ of those cars are the "base" for GT6. They have a long way to go to complete the other 800 cars. I just dont see it happening on the PS3.

My life is perhaps half way through and in those 50+ years computer games have come from being a science-fiction concept into reality. They have seen so many changes, becoming massive edifices that let you do so much - all with beautiful graphics.

Most people will have more years life left in them than 50 - so yes, in our lifetime a lot is possible.

I'm not talking just about cars. Just think about the graphic and game engine etc...

Something that becomes increasingly annoying is people think that most of PD's time between 2004-2012 was spent just on these cars alone.

When in fact that's probably far from it. I mean come on do we not have new courses here those probably took a lot longer to put into the game then most cars. Especially the real world tracks.

For the next GT game I think people will be more happy with it as a product then GT5. XL edition helped it, but I don't think anything could save what happened to GT5 as far as this community goes.

Still they(PD) have a good ground to build on.

The tracks they have plus the DLC ones they put in
Got over 250 premiums including the ones from DLC.
A-spec and B-spec modes
Photo Mode and Photo Travel
Course Maker

These are some of things that they can improve on and more than likely will in GT6.
