As a DLC..

Every month PD should release an update allowing "x" amount of standard cars to be premium cars as a DLC.

Reason for this idea is simple, It makes it easier for PD by doing this way, rather than having to get 800+ standard cars updated to premium cars all at once, while still having to work on other DLC or future updates. Its a win on both sides in my opinion.

Example...

November's DLC for standard to premium cars.

'03 Dodge Srt-4
'00 Honda S2000
'00 Chevorlet Camaro SS
'03 Honda Accord EX
'09 Buggati Veyron

Okay now lets saw you happen to own of the vehicles listed above, well yes it turns into a premium car, but the cool part about this is that this doesn't change how you purchase the car.

Example..

In order to get the '03 Dodge Srt-4 would be by having to get it in the UCL (Used Car Lot) or having the car gifted to you, so in other words these cars won't be available in the New Car Dealerships..

Now this just an idea, spoke to a few great racers online and they supportec my idea, i figured i would share this idea with the community of gtplanet and get full support to make this happen, thank you for taking time to read this. 👍

There would be a riot if PD charged people to upgrade Standards of which there are already Premium versions in the game, as with the S2000.

I also don't see why your suggestion is better than just putting them in the NCD. Could you explain a bit more?

Yea explain your suggestion a bit more. It would be cool if it noticed that you had the same car standard, and you simply just had to trade it in at the NCD. Free of charge.

1 month to model a premium car? Not possible afaik. It would be very nice but it's not quite that simple. My thoughts were that they could convert the standards with modelled interiors to premium first, since they wouldn't take too much work and carry on from there.

Not gonna happen. Even if PD upgraded all standard cars to premium, they're not going to release it on GT5 for the public, it will be in GT6.

When the game got released Kaz mentioned he's still working on standard to premium models but undecided if it's going to be in GT5 or have it in GT6. I believe they do have more premiums in their offices but it's going to be in GT6 as a marketing strategy as well as other features that got taken out from the game (FIAGT, DTM, Stig Challenge etc).

Well as a DLC i mean "free" as for my idea to not having the cars be available in the NCD is that it makes the game rather more interesting, when people go online to race or cruise you tend to run into cars you've yet to own or see in the game, this happens alot with me, and in my opinion it gives me more of a challenge to get that certain car, rather than having to just go out and buy the car in the NCD. They are people o in this community who are car collectors, who likes to see 1-4 rare cars in an online lobby of16 rather than a lobby where everyone has that same car.

Example.. Redbulls everyone has that car, yes to some its a fun car, but everyone has one, i'm aware that not everyone uses theres, but when you see one driven on the track, your expression is dull, your not in excitement, or checking the car out & drooling over it, saying to yourself what you would do to have one. Thats just my view on this.

I'd rather prefer them to work on new cars than on the old standards. Besides, not even as much as 200 of them 800 do actually deserve the "premium treatment". For some 500 of them, right place is the trash can.

Agreed. If GT5 had 300 or 400 Cars, Then we would have half of both Standard and Premium Cars, and GT5 wouldn't have too many Japanese Cars.

Also, someone told me that the 75 Cars in GT5: Prologue were scaled dowm models. That's the one thing I didn't underestand, like how were GT5: Prologue's Cars were scaled down models? They looked like they're the same scale as the standard cars are.

I don't think Prologue even had 75 cars...

I just don't understand the fascination with things like this.
I prefer that PD puts a focus on the driving experience and physics.
All this type of superficial fluff should be left for the lesser games to peacock about.

As much as I want premium standards, not putting them in the NCD is just absurred. Heck, I haven't even seen a neon in my UCD yet, so this would be wasting money more than anything (leme guess, this idea is for those "exclusivist elitists"?).

At least put standards in a new dealership for christ's sake. Sick an tired of not finding cars I want, especially those that shouldn't even be that rare (Neon for example - how many do you see on the road each day? My point exactly). Plus, finding that one special car, and then seeing the 500,000+ miles on it just kills the deal.

Well, one thing that would be cool and somewhat like in real life is to let the newer ones, from 2000/2009, go to the NCD, and the older ones, from the 90's and older, to stay in the UCD.

I just think they should pick 5 of the most significant cars of the year and provide them as free dlc such as
1. Agera r
2. Ssc tuatra
3. Venom gt
4. Aventador
5. Bmw m5 f10

I agree. Having a used car dealer and having to wait until you find the right car is realistic and it was part of GT series since day 1.

If GT ever get rid of the used car dealer, it won't be Gran Turismo anymore.
