Looks absolutely fantastic and gorgeous, considering they’re showing us base PS5 gameplay footage.

One of my most anticipated games this year. Really looking forward to playing SW:GR. October can’t come fast enough. I’ll most likely pre-order the (physical) deluxe edition as it stands.

"It's a new lap record!" :D IYKYK. ;)

Seen some gameplay, games looks interesting but I think it cost a bit too much for what it is. I would have buy it instantly at 40. Now I'll wait and see how the perf. etc.. are.

I think the base version at £50 defintely looks worth it, especially with the replayability of the roguelite career.

Impressions all seem to be very positive.

Very excited to play this next week. May even venture online, the multiplayer tour looks good fun.

This has got me curious with the positive reviews.

If anyone wants to try the game and has an Amazon Prime sub, you can stream it (single player only) for free via the Luna service

Played a bit yesterday, I really enjoy the roguelike features in the game. I think it's really fun. The pods are nice too, lots of variety in looks. Havent tried pvp yet, but the time attack is harder than I expected, which is nice.

So far, the only downside I would say is the tracks, other than that I really enjoy the game.

The first race was a bit underwhelming since I took the hardest difficulty but after I got the hang of the controls, it was fun.

I’m very very bad at this but having so much fun.

Fantastic game. Fantastic graphics. I love this game. Anyone looking for an arcade blast need look no further.

I've pass the qualification rounds and terrain become a bit more difficult, which is interesting. The gameplay loop is quite fun I must say, still havent played any MP, I'll probably do this this week-end. Today is forza day, doubt I'll play much.

A track map would be nice just to know where I should go, sometimes it's a bit hard to see the track even with the light flashing.

Attempted the campaign today after initially only doing the arcade mode. Crashed out of the first run on planet 3. Made it to the final qualifier against SPOILER on the second run but lost. Unlocked the bike for run 3.

Wasn’t sure about this roguelite stuff beforehand but I think it works well. Gradually unlocking all the new parts and styles. Compensation for failing, instead of just repeating/restarting races in a normal game.

Haven’t tried online yet. From the videos I’ve seen it looks a bit sweaty. Maybe once I’ve got a lot better at not crashing.

Ordered a physical copy of this from Amazon today. Was not on my radar at all but I watched some streams of it on Youtube and the whole rouge-like element of the campaign, just sucked me right in. Looks fantastic fun.

Same as above, I picked up a physical copy and it is a lot of fun, pure arcade star wars burnout. I still only had time for a few races but first impressions are good, a little story in career mode and the roguelite side of things starting again were usually my fault! Steep learning curve. UE5 Graphics are very good and runs smooth feels like locked 60fps.
I read they maybe updating a few things with practice modes for beginners, track markers and updates so hopefully will only get better. So far I am enjoying it and think it will be a long term game to jump in to. They did well I can see why it got such high scores in reviews and praised by you tubers and with the bonus of them allowing disc to digital on xbox so i can have digital all time.

I made it to act 2 which is where the real racing begins. Starting to get a bit too fast and frantic for my old man reflexes, but that's why we have Autopilot.

I honestly don't think it needs a full practice mode. You learn by racing, failing and starting again. Maybe the directional markers could be made a bit clearer though, I have turned completely the wrong way on a few occasions when distracted by boost management/abilities/mines/rammers etc.

I agree they are getting a bit fast some of those tunnels for my reactions  with no auto pilot I don't think yet I will have to look for that later. The practice was only what I read what people wanted but yes I agree they already have arcade mode etc and markers could help but I guess they wanted the raw tracks and didn't want markers all over so I understand from their artistic side.

The lack of direction and map in races is a bit of a problem imo, especially later on with pods. Even the auto-pilot can't handle the sheer pace of the game, which is funny, it crashed more than once in challenging tracks.

My biggest grip are the cutscene and the walking part. They are really badly done and the dialogue are kinda boring imo. The story isnt bad but you could have done that in Visuel novel style, no need to render everything in 3D, I would rather have another track than this but oh well.

Currently on Act 3, which is much harder but super fun to find the good setup. As for crashing a lot, for me at least it's paired with trying to keep boost alive the longuest possible, when I drive normaly and take a bit of a care, I can finish in top 3 easely but it's less fun than trying to keep boost the full lap.

Some reviews mentioned that the strong rubberbanding completely destroys the sense of the game. No problem here by you guys?

If you can keep up with them  So far (early races) they shoot around everywhere through tunnels and around things so fast I never noticed that yet. I wonder if it is more noticeable as you get further on with same type of racing but I think I may need more practice as used to GT7 pacing too much.

I've only noticed it in a couple of specific flashback/memory races where you are expected to win for the story.

Normally I haven't had a problem on the first 2 acts, if I get ahead and don't crash I can stay ahead. There are legitimate reasons why you might get caught, ie running out of both boosts, being slipstreamed (there are enhancements for that), not taking the optimal route (AI loves a shortcut), etc.

It may be an issue with the online mode. I've seen some posts saying there is a speed boost/handicap depending on where you are positioned. Don't know myself, I'm an offline racer at the moment.

Having never watched any Star Wars films in my life so know absolutely nothing about the whole scene, is it still accessible even though the dialogue will mean bugger all ? It looks really good fun and on triples I’m guessing will be quite intense or do you have to be invested in the whole thing ?

It's not a huge lore you are missing. There are 3 Star Wars films. They are really old and great.

Nothing else exists! ;-)
