I don't know what happened, but today when I started the new computer, it would load to the Welcome screen, and suddenly reboot/restart, and then go all the way to the Welcome screen, and then, reboot/restart, and do it all over again.

Please help!

Have you changed any settings or installed any new programs recently? The fact that it's rebooting around the logon time makes it sound like there's something wrong with a program or file that it's opening on startup, rather than a hardware thing.

I plugged my MP3 Player into a USB port on the mobo instead of the case and that happened. If you can get in, update your chipset drivers. Worked for me.

There is some sort of button you can press at the loading screen (WinXP logo, loading bar, etc.) to boot it with the last good config.

Edit: Found it http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...ll/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

1.
Print these instructions before continuing. They will not be available after you shut down your computer in step 2.

2.
Click Start, click Shut Down, and then, in the drop-down list, click Shut down.
3.
In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.

4.
When you see the message Please select the operating system to start, press F8.

5.
Use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.

6.
If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

Note
• Choosing Last Known Good Configuration provides a way to recover from problems such as a newly added driver that may be incorrect for your hardware. It does not solve problems caused by corrupted or missing drivers or files.
• When you choose Last Known Good Configuration, only the information in registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet is restored. Any changes you have made in other registry keys remain.
• NUM LOCK must be off before the arrow keys on the numeric keypad will function.

From,
Chris.

In addition to Wallrunner51's above post, it should be noted that Choosing Last Known Good Configuration does not always work when something serious has occurred such as a corrupt system file. If that doesn't work, I would boot into safe mode and take a look at what is attempting to start up through msconfig.
