So what you are saying is that to further drive home our lack of nice car seeing adequacy, you took a job that essentially requires you to see nice cars.

What an ass.

During the job interview, did you give them the URL for the Did you see anything good today? thread to show what a psychotic you are?

BTW, I have to admit that I’m surprised at how good that looks in white – I thought a white Ferrari would look like white dress shoes.

BTW 2: If you mess up a manual car because you’ve been driving an auto for too long, you know you’ll never hear the end of it from me.

Very nice job. I was actually thinking of picking up something similar around here for a summer job. But yeah. I think more than a few of us will be slightly jealous...

So. Not. Fair. It would be awesome to have a job like that. Congrats!

Congrats Doug, truly an awesome job 👍! I must say I'm a bit jealous. And this just goes to show when it comes to a job it's all about who you know.

Nice one, Doug! What a perfect job that is! Looking forward to seeing even more photos from you. You may need to start blanking out the license plates now though, eh. With your passion for cars I'm sure you'll make lots of great contacts in the job and be driving these things quickly with permission soon! btw That white 355 looks fantastic! Would look great with shiny black wheels. I saw a white Testarossa here and fell in love with white Ferraris, with that white F40 I saw being the icing on the cake.

I absolutely hate white supercars, but consensus seems to be that the 355 is the only one that can really "pull it off." This particular model, however, had a red interior and didn't engage first gear. Perhaps not the finest example.

I think the Gallardo pulls it off pretty well.

Congrats, seems like the car spotting effort paid off nicely. Oh yeah, don't crash.

Somewhat like my job, same hours too.

Except that I'm driving Hyundais/Mitsubishis/Hondas around.

And I'm working on them instead of washing them...

Anyway, how much are you getting paid?

w00t!

...And to think I get excited about driving run-of-the-mill Cadillacs and Chevrolets...

But you'll be putting the photos in the GTPremium forum right? Pwetty-pweese... Got any of the 512TR's? I need something to cheer me up!

Great! btw, how was the 575M? My friend and I always talk about the possibility of owning one. The difference between me and him being that he could actually go out and buy one tomorrow =[

Holy hell you are one lucky sunnamagun. I was considering doing this for the Lotus dealership a bike ride away, but I already had a great job this summer. Although I don't have any experience, I definitely have my foot in the door in regards to the Lotus aspect of things. Perhaps next year.

M5Power
This dealer is also Lotus Denver so pretty soon I'll have an Elise under my belt, provided I can fit.

I'm big and it wasn't an issue. Have you recently been in one of those Mcdonald's play structures? Getting into an Elise feels like maneuvering through one of those. Once you're in, you're in.

Hah! Good choice. There's something about that car and the 550 that just pushes all the right buttons. You're right about the prices, they're tumbling. Even the 550 Barchetta - my personal choice (1,800 miles @ GBP 104k!) . The only problem being that ownership would be a huge financial commitment, especially here with the 2nd highest fuel prices in the world and outrageous road-tax for such a large engined car, not to mention insurance and other everyday parking/tunnel toll costs (although they're are the same no matter what you drive). Some day though. Some day.

I've seen a few white Gallardos - I think they are awful. The only color that does not suit the Gallardo.

I think they pull it of just as well as the 355 if not better, especially the LP550.

I looked at an Elise once, one that I could sit in. I just said "no" and walked away. The last time I had my knees in my face in the drivers seat was a Ferrari 308 as I recall... Not particularly pleasant. Still, its not really all that bad... I just didn't feel like being a Circe'd'Sole (sp?) performer to get in there.

Maybe that's why I generally prefer cars like the Corvette (made for tall people) and the M3/M5 (just plain normal-sized). Then again, I have about an inch of headroom in the Celica anyway...

Interestingly enough, my 6'2 frame has fit perfectly in both the Elise I sat in, as well as the 308 I sat in. I fit worse in the bigger Testarossa. I like how you dismissed the Elise's driving position without even sitting in it. It is the most driver-focused interior arrangement I have ever come across.

Doug, very impressive.
I'm a little jealous, to be honest. It'd be a dream job for a summer.

Needless to say, have fun and enjoy it while it lasts!

Congrats Doug on your new job, you sure did make a lot of people here jealous. Too bad you can't take them for a spin, if you did you would end up wetting your pants every time you drove on of those cars. So is this like your part time job or something? Will you continue after school is finished? ;)
