Hi, I would like to start a tuning garage, but I'm not very good on computers (apart from turning them on, and logging into gtp:sly:), and my ps3 is not hooked up to the internet. I have alot (I at least think so) of tunes that I would like to share and get feed back. Plus that way I feel I'm not stealing tunes from other garages. Help?:nervous:

You should test your tunes on-line your self, then having others test for you as well before starting a Tuning Garage.

Again, sorry, not good with computers, but ps3 has wireless? How?

If you have a wireless router then you be able to go on-line with the PS3. The PS3 has a build in wireless antenna.

This is something I did not know. I'm a truck driver, but when I get home I'll give it a try. Thanks a lot for all your help :)

Okay!!! WOW. I've owned GT5 since Jan. and been having a blast, racing and tuning and....well racing (some here call it "grinding"). Downloading the new "patch?/update?" is like a brand new game. Racing since GT1 back in high school but never did the online thing. This is cool.:dopey:
:D back to the Question....thanks you guys though (Zuel, chosenone, elite, and berty)... when/if I start a tuning garage how do I link tunes to the first post like the BIG BOYS? And photos too? I wish I knew more of this stuff!:dunce:

Since this is your thread you'll be able to edit the first post. To add photos you must have them saved to a online photo sever like Photo Bucket/ www.photobucket.com or Image Shack/ www.imageshack.com. From there just follow the tag icons in the advanced post screen

Thanks again this has really helped. I hope someday to start a garage, but for now I've got a "new" game to play :). Thank you for all your help!!

Get racing online mate, its much better and harder than offline aspec mode, find a good lobby then get chatting and share your tunes with people you meet racing online. Add me if you want, my psn is THE_MUTTS_NUTTS_

:( I will be away from my ps3 for a couple days (work/wife/kids). But when I can (again stupid question) what do I need to chat?

A headset for voice, Sony Blue Tooth ( Wireless ), Turtle Beached Headset ( Wired ), Triton Headset (Wired). I would go with the wired headsets.

Why do you say go with wired? I don't have one but was thinking about it - do bluetooth headsets have sounds quality issues?

Yes wired is a better way to go. I've never tried the wireless Turtle Beach Headsets but I've heard they can lose sound when low on power. I myself have had the Triton Headsets, they broke at the Ear Cups right above the screw Cap. I have a pair of Turtle Beach Wired, so far a well build headset. Sound quality of a Ear Cup Headset is outstanding when you have a family. If not get a insane Home Theater System.

There have been issues with the bluetooth headsets causing interference with the blue tooth connection between the controller and the PS3. Plus, you don't run out of battery.:dopey:

Kernkme have you tested any of your tunes on-line yet?

+1:tup:
I forgot about that with the Sony Blue Tooth.

Not yet. Will be working till Friday (truck driver), and then camping with the Wife and Kids. I hope I can Monday night :( How much does a head set cost? A little strapped for cash!

I've been using the Plantronics Voyager blue tooth for PS3 since the PS3 was launched and I've never had a problem with interference. The price is about $40.

My blue tooth headset is rechargeable and the battery lasts over 6 hours when using it online.

My wife uses the same headset and she's never had a problem either.

It depends on what kind of headset you buy but the Rocketfish wireless headset that I have cost me about $30 and it gets the job done for me. 👍

One last dumb question I promise. Do you need a headset to race people online? Sorry I'm such an idiot. I know I seem like a noob (and I am :)) but I've been racing this game since Jan. (The GT brand since the ps1 days... Before it was called ps1 :)) A-spec lev. 34 B-spec 40, its just that the online thing is new to me. Once I race awhile and test my tunes online I hope to be helpful for the GTP universe

No you don't need a headset to race online but you do need one to talk to people of course. 👍

You can get the Turtle Beach Wired headset for 80 at Wally World. Or you can go to Game Stop and get a used Blue Tooth for about 25.

Thanks again everyone. Heading home today, and hopefully will try online racing Monday (without headset, insufficient funds). Again thank you, thank you!! :)
