I used to play Gran Turismo 5 hard. Played it almost everyday, and getting active on the :gtplanet: forums.

... And then I got the Red Bull S. Vettel X1. Man, that turned my into a noob. I completed all the possible races that qualify that, then buy the cars needed to fill in the few that remained. I felt dirty! :yuck:

After about 4 or 5 months, I want to get back on track. I started a new save (to play honestly and fair) and got back connected with the forums, but now I am stuck.

What I am asking for is some help to start off.
♠ What vehicle to start off with? :dunce:
♠ What vehicle to invest in first?
♠ Possibly add me as a contact on PSN and possibly "train" with me (Contact me for info)?

I will pay back for any help on whatever I have.

Thank you for reading.

I would recommend the 86 GT that you get given as a freebie.

Its quite challenging to start the game with, I did myself back in December. It wins some races, has alot of close races, and loses some too.
Other than that - buy an Autozam AZ-1. Tried this on my alt - now that was a challenge. :)

Miata, RX7, RX8, GTR and any FF that you like. These cars are easy to find in the game because there are so many of them. The Miata qualifies for many of the beginner events.

Feel free to stop by my garage (link below) for some tuning advice. Learn to make your cars handle better and you are likely to enjoy the game more.

Looking at your thread - It's great! I know there are numerous Miatas and Roasters. Is there any major difference between them other than age and power? Do they all handle about the same? One that's around 20,000 Cr.?

Yes, there are differences. The premium '07 handles great, but is the most expensive. Of the other two premiums, the '89 is a little faster than the '91 for some reason.

As for the Miata's in the Used Car Dealership, the early models, '89 to '98 are all pretty close to the same and have a tendancy to understeer. The newer years from the UCD 2000 to 2004 are all the same and have a tendance to oversteer. Both can be tuned to handle well, but the early years are definately easier to drive for someone just learning.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. I heard the at Miata's are fantastic starter cars, but I never tried them yet. I will get started on my new account today!

I saw that in the UCD I think. For some reason it doesn't show up the first time I go and buy a car.

Check toyota premium. Not sure if its cheap enough to start with, as that was ages ago.

I went with a civic, 97 I think, it was in the UCD. Its cheap and handles good, also gets you into most races. Another good thing is that you still have a bit of money for upgrades after you buy.

1) When I started GT5, I didn't had much of a grasp on what car was the best. But looking at the first few events for Career Mode suggested I should start with a slowish car from the NCD. And so, I bought the Autozam AZ-1 :dopey: It was a pretty nice little car, and was able to win a bit of races enough to rely on the prizes to clean out most of the Career. Though any other car that is close to what the game gives you for Credits is good enough like a Miata.

2) Anything you want, basically. But try avoiding high-trend cars like LMPs. If you want a start you can begin in the NCD and scrolling through cars you may like.

3) Sure, mate. My PSN is at the left.

I was waiting for someone like you! :p I should be on around 8:30 PM PST - I know that is 11:30 in Florida. Is it to late? I will send you a request then.

Thank you for all of your info. I will follow your advice! 👍

No problem, mate. I'm not particularly sure if I'm able to comply with those times in the weekdays, though.
