I think its pretty stupid that we dont get time to set up before being forced to start. I would love some time to actually see the rev meter before hand launching. I really hope PD changes this 3-2-1 thing in the future patches.

There's a big button called "practice" and when you click it, it brings you to places where you can fart around and such..

I agree with the original poster. It is really difficult to try and hold the car at the right amount of revs when you only have 1 second to see the tachometer before starting. Some might say it's not a big deal but with the aventador, a good start and a bad start can have significantly different 0-60 times.

Just be happy the feature is even there... PD didn't have to go out of their way to make this just to SATISFY you. Also be happy you even have it. My PS3 broke so I can't get the DLC.

I agree. The acceleration tests need accurate ways to launch at desired revs. It can make a difference, but it’s not detrimental.

Well it would make sense if you want to eke out your starting rpm perfectly and not have to gun it and hope for the best. Not sure why PD or even Turn 10 does this, must be a genre thing. It's stupid to just count down and I am given about a second and a half to try to rev match for a launch...eep. Should just be able to hit a button to bypass that count down so you can get down to business before the timer hits 0. Nothing wrong with wanting something useful and not having this hurry up and do it mentality. It's like having 5 seconds to take control of a plane and the guy is giving you instructions on how to do it 4 seconds before you run out of time.

THIS! People complain about everything, be happy we got a test track, PD didnt have to give us anything...

To be fair, they didn't GIVE it to us. They charged us for a track that we've always had before now in previous installments of Gran Turismo. This track should have been included in the game when it came out 14 months ago. Yes, I'm buying the track, but I think it's crap that I had to pay extra for it 14 months later.

I'm more on this side of the pack. Sure PD is doing a great job wiht update but dont forget that we have to buy it. So it's not like PD give us anything. Even the premium conversion is costing us something. It's great but it's business, nothing for the customers there.

It's a minor fault. Nothing to cry about but legit for who payed money for it. Now, my fear, as in europe we have to wait 3 more hours:

Are acceleration tests made with COLD tires o_O ?

I just finished a awesome race with nascars on the new track while I wait for the dlc the drafting and trying to get that little bit more speed at the end was awesome!

Some people hate whiners. I hate people who whine about whiners, and who think they're funny when they post a picture of some Austrian guy. Sure some things are childish to complain about perhaps, but not this.

I think the OP is constructive critique more than anything. I mean, we've had this "3, 2, 1, Go!" BS ever since the first game. I think it's about time they give us an option to disable it, and instead use starting lights, like iRacing and every other serious sim.

EDIT: By the way, if we just sat here all quiet and pretended we were satisfied, we would probably not have DLC in the first place. In other words. If we don't complain or point out certain things, how would PD/Kaz know what to improve/add?

And maybe we could have standing starts back too, but that is an entirely different kettle of fish. I personally love the track already, from the one US lobby I have been in.

There's a lot more than this that they need to adopt from other racing simulators.

I for one am looking forward to the fact that in online practice drag lobbys it now goes like in the real world on the roads:

One is "judge" and follows the 2 or more draggers from behind.
The draggers all line up, and a second "judge" lined up lateral gives the 3 honks, third is the start signal.

At a point wich has been choosen before the start a 3th one sits and waits until they cross. Winner is first to cross.

In this lobby we all had to switch places once we run, so everybody was finnish line, start honker or judge etc...

Like this it fellt immensly fun and can't wait to buy it in Europe now!!!

3..2..1..Go! Hold the brake, hit the gas to get the right rev number... Listen, restart, hold the gas to match the sound, fine tune in the 1.25 seconds it gives you. Not ideal, but it gives you a chance to drool over your car during the countdown.

Amen to that. The 'stop moaning' brigade really need to quit their own whining and pointless posts. At least the OP was constructive in posting something about the game, what did all the subsequent 'stop moaning' posts add to the forum. Nothing.

In the same way PD didn't have to sell us the track and people didn't have to buy it, you don't have to read and reply to threads you don't care for. Just ignore them.

After almost 14 months of constant moaning I can see where they are coming from, but this thread isn't one that should have been targeted. OP states an actual issue imo and isn't overly dramatic about it.

I work around it and I doubt it will ever be fixed.

Route X bought and appreciated. But my fears were true: acceleration trial is with COLD tires. The 3 2 1 is bad but, as Menown says, not that bad. The overall impression is about an 'arcadish' addon. After all, the track is much better than the old Test Course. Day-night transitions too.

Why is it when someone posts a complaint so many say "Quit whining and don't buy it if you don't want". The **** is getting old.

Because if you haven't noticed, there has been an overwhelming amount of people whining on GT Planet ever since the very first DLC came out. There are also those who appreciate the DLC and don't want to see anyone posting negative stuff on the forums about the DLC, like me. Don't like the DLC? Simple; Don't 🤬 buy it or go onto GT Planet and post a new thread saying "0mgzz teh new dlc suhcks." Seriously, I'm sick of seeing this crap and it just takes up bandwidth.

Red Army has 17 posts total, 5 are thread starters, 1 of which was locked, 1 that was blitzed by Daan telling him to use the search function. The threads started by him/her consist of "Why can't" "Stupid", etc.

It's not so much the criticism of certain aspects of GT5 I'm against, it's the habitual offenders that constantly do it. Hence the reply if you don't like it, don't buy it.
It is the way of the world and life. If you don't like something, you stay away.

I don't like the fit and finish on the interiors of American cars. I'm not going to call up the big three and complain about it, I'll just buy something Bavarian.

In summary, we all have our own likes and dislikes. That's great because it makes the world that much richer. If we all liked the same thing it would be very boring. It's alright to identify a dislike and chat about it, just don't beat a dead horse. Add it into one of the hundreds of existing threads. It just seems lately everytime a blade of grass doesn't look, feel, or sound right, it produces a new thread.

Now, you may carry on... Cheers!👍
