OK I'm trying to drift with an an RX-7 Infini III, and it easily oversteers. When I'm at the curve, I try to keep it sideways, but it eventually OVER oversteers. Could you please give me some advice??

Each car has a "point of no return", as I like to call it. This is the angle at which the drift cannot be recovered. This of course also depends on the situation. The trick is finding where that point is, and staying just under it. Don't just give full throttle, you need to tap the gas to keep the revs in the right place, to keep the wheels spinning at the correct rate for the amount of angle you have on your drift. Remember, the more angle, the more dellicate your throttle control must be........

Practice smooth countersteer, and throttle control, and you'll be on the right track.....

Mark those words, silviadrifter knows what he's talking about. I'm curious as to what you use to play. Steering wheel? Controller?
I use a controller with the analogs, I hear battle_stage uses the D-pad (which is mighty impressive if you ask me) After using the analogs for so long I doubt I can go back to the D-pad. There'd be little point to do it anyways since I'm getting better with the joysticks.

Keep practicing. No aspiring drifter ever learned without spinning out once (or twice, or a dozen times for that matter)

Oh, yeah, I forgot to ask if he used a wheel or not.... The technique remains the same, but if we are to get anymore indepth, it would be good to know...........

I use both analogs, because it gives you more precise control over the steering and throttle. I would suggest it to anyone. It's the closest you can get to using a wheel without using a wheel IMHO.......

Oh, and thanks for the vote of confidence, Sleek......

Edit: Sleek Stratos, I am going to a local rally on the 23rd, in Washington State (USA). I went to one a few months back, and I had so much fun, that I'm now hooked. I go to all the rally's I can find.....lol......

;);)

OK can you tell me the setup on your FC3S like the mods and stuff. One tuning technique that I have been testing with great results is to tune a driveable grip car that can easily be put sideways into a corner. It's workin' great on my trueno. There's nothing wrong with a full-on tire smokin' drift machine but if you use this technique when the car is sideways it will be alot easier
to control and the car will be alittle less....um crazy to control during drift. Also learn your cars limit and how it does in different situations.
