I think there should be some penalty for missing a race also.

Makes sense. I think if everyone had run all the races, the fast guys would have ended up with about the same deductions. The slower guys would have gotten their viagra and there would have been some silly close racing at the end.

I agree. If anybody wants to run a ppr series again after the next batch of series im down! I will definitely implement the missing race penalty and no back to back changes

Tuning prohibited is real nice. It made me drive harder and push more as I did in Reds series. I'm not trying to be an ass, but slower drivers simply need to keep at it. Tuning prohibited I believe, takes some of the anxiety away from slower drivers as they don't have to worry about the tuning adjustments the fast guys are using. In turn they focus on driving alone. It's hard to change the way you drive. I know that if I could apply the smooth in and smooth out as Red in turns, RR's braking and acceleration techniques, and ncr's flow I would be quicker. But I just can't. I'm stuck in my ways. But it doesn't keep me from pushing to keep up or try to apply those techniques every now and then.

Stock tune here except for the rear roll bar.... maybe if you guys would share your tuning secrets I couldv'e shaved some time off.

No. That would be like C-3PO telling Lando what to do. You already have the pimp skills.

Standings updated

Here is the updated PP tracker. Tip o' the hat to NCR btw! LOL

dj, drop me down to 585 please. Thanks

My bad i forgot to put the asterisk. the PP on the race results are what your PP limit was set at. Not what you actually raced at.

Unless you're talking about another table?

Hey NCR, I ran some laps at VIR today in a McLaren MP12 4C GT3 car (obviously iRacing)....very cool track!! The left hander before the oak tree will really catch you off guard! Still fun.

Oh cool! Yeah, that turn is a killer. I saw Patrick Dempsey slide off there and continue all the way across the grass. He cut the whole Oak Tree Turn. Rainy conditions in an RX8.

I believe it. Even in the dry you have to be ready for it.

Those S turns may be the best series of turns that i have virtually driven. So much fun when you hit the right line.

Oh heck yeah! I've hit those turns IRL in my Evo as fast as my nerve's allowed. Happy to have AWD there. Spectating from the bridge area before the Esses is a good view. Seen many cars go off heading uphill attempting a tight pass. That whole course is so great, the corkscrew (The Hogpen) is a fun drop. Turn 1 is another killer as is the whole first sector.

The first sector is very technical. South Bend will make you pucker up. The roller coaster & Hog Pen is no walk in the park. Of course, tested this all in the Skip Barber which isn't exactly the best handling car. Great track!

If a doctor ever wants to show you, your pp chart, that's not good.

Has DJ decided on a car and track yet?

Got up early to download GT6. And nothing. From those that have it, the opinion seems to be not much different to yeah I notice some difference. Between this and Kaz bulli**** answer to some other stuff I personally don't think we're going to see much difference. I think they're making it easier to sell us stuff, clean things up a little and work on PS4 version.

US version won't be downloadable until 5:00PM PST/ 8:00PM EST. Hopefully it won't be delayed further.

As far as differences go, I'm mainly interested in the physics. There's only a few folks that I read on GTP that seem to be well versed in comparing real life physics vs sim physics. Scaff is one of those. Here's a quote from him with some initial impressions:

OK first impressions from the demo.

The tyre and suspension model is a big improvement, however still no torque steer from a standing start on a quick check (however the silly spinning of tyres is much better).

You don't get that feeling that RWD cars want to kill you just because you used the throttle and recovery is more better now as tyre grip progression is actually communicated. Load transfer under braking and how it affects balance seems very well done (better than FM4).

Under the limit cars can be driven easily and over the limit you will get punished for mistakes, however unless its a seriously stupid mistake its possible to gather it back up, but at the expense of time lost.

Early days yet (less than an hour) but overall experience is positive, one thing I will add is how much closer the GT6 demo and FM4 now feel in regard to tyre and suspension, so I guess those who complained about how FM4 feels may well hate it, but its now a lot closer to how cars should react.

More to follow.

That sounds great to me!

I agree on physics, every thing else could stay the same as far as am concerned, (and rework the interface would be nice).

I'll take a look at it tonight. Many are saying there isn't much difference between the demo and GT5. I'd expect some fairly big changes with a whole new physics engine.

NCR, for you.

OAK TREE DOWN

Alton, VA, July 2, 2113 – There is no easy way to say this – The Oak Tree is down. The iconic landmark that has come to symbolize VIRginia International Raceway has fallen, broken at the base.

“We are in shock and mourning,” said track owner Connie Nyholm. “We’re too busy right now trying to get the racetrack cleared of debris. We are grateful no one was at the corner station or on track when she fell and that there is no damage to the track surface. Tomorrow we’ll begin to get our arms around what this really means, but I can tell you that it means more than any of us want to think about today.”

The massive oak stood sentinel at the south end of the racetrack, looking out from the highest point on the property at the sprawling facility and its 3.27 miles of serpentine asphalt that has come to be regarded as the most challenging in North America, if not the world.

Its branches shaded the apex of the legendary Oak Tree Turn, looking down on the likes of Roger Penske, Walt Hansgen, Tom Kristensen and Richard Petty as well as a host of race drivers from the brilliant to the not so.

“I can tell you this,” Nyholm said, “The Oak Tree will live on in our minds and hearts, and we will give it an appropriate send-off. Please email your thoughts and suggestions to oaktree@VIRnow.com for proper ways to honor this old friend.”

^^Ah, that's horrible. Wonder if a storm got it.

I've got the Demo and played it for an hour. It's in the US store you just have to go to search and put in G then T and scroll down. It wasn't in the Demo section. Now we've got an actual tire model and flexible suspension. I'm not going to mention anything else so you can see for yourself.
