If you have got enough HP, a road car have no problems eating the 787B on the long straight. Anyone have a fully tuned Veyron yet? Not sure how much you can tune it but say, if you can get >1200hp then you'll be faster.
But come corners the Veyron will be left far far behind.
Prototype is what they are called in their class now, it was actually a Group C car, no homologomation was necessary since it was the basically the LMP 1 class of today. It didn't get banned either, Group C rules changed and all the cars were rendered obsolete by LMP 1 and 2 rules, so the had to build new cars following the new rules, some manufacturers left LeMans and other dropped down to GT1 class like Mercedes and Porsche. The new cars had much better handling and weren't as powerful, they also because of technology had better overall stats, mileage, tire wear and less mechanical breakdowns.
The best part about the Stealth cars... 500 credits to rebuild the engine and 500 credits to increase the rigidity. 👍
My Ferrari 512BB ran in three-four races. One course was new to me. I crashed several times, but no big wallops, or anything. Checked how much damage cost there was... $51,000. Ridiculous.

depends. Everyone keeps saying that. But i can get my sauber mercedes race car up to 240 i think.
If you take all the down force off the car it can stick with teh veyron in the straights. the veryon may just slightly edge it out. But there is no straight long enough to escape what will happen when a turn comes.
The only think that can be a race car is a race car. period. Even my stealth mclaren will get blown away by a 787b. A street car has no chance in hell.
Even if you can even get close to matching its 997hp(after turbo, and talking abotu my mercedes) you cannot beat the 900kg weight.
The power to weight ratio is unbeatable. Yea a veyron will get more power. But not at its relative weight. my veyron is fully kitted out and still weighs SEVERAL hundred kg more than my sauber.
But again there is no TRACK that it will lose. The veyron will beat it on a 20 mile straight, but there are none. Even if you race on special stage route 7 and the veyron does beat you on the straight, it still wont win the race.
I've not tried it but i'd imagine if you tuned the basic Mclaren F1 road car it would have a chance, it does 220mph+ in 5th gear (it has 6 gears) and is very light, has huge grip and traction. If you tuned it (i'm gonna buy a 2nd to tune) i imagine it would be insanely fast.
Veyron tuned would be amazingly fast too, but the Veyron is a big fat bus of a car, so its not the best in the corners.
But then again, you're still losing the battle if its possible to further tune a Group C/Prototype Le Mans car, in GT4 they were up in the 1200Bhp range, with massive ammounts of downforce available while weighing less than a tonne.
you can hit over 460 in a veyron slipstreamed (fully tuned)
that's what i've seen in youtube videos. i've hit around 435 w/o slipstream on the le sarthe straight, but 787b would eat the veyron alive in corners

I have the Lexis FA10, that car is a beast, it tops 227MPH with just 700hp on the staraight at special stage 7 with stock gears. I just added suspension and a racing tranny to adjust the gearing to slow it down and give it better handling, its damn near handles as well as my R8 wich is a 4WD car so thats damn impressive. Fastest car I have thus far. That 375k was worth it, the car was clearly designed for high end brute speed, but can be tuned to a track car. Think of it as the spiritual successor to the Supra.

I maybe have a car to beat the 787b.. I loved the 787b in gt4 havent driven it in gt5 yet.
Not on the straights, top is about 320kmh. But the cornerings speed is unbelieveble. You no what car i am talking about. Im a real mazdafan. My rx7 does the ring in 6:4x. But this car i believe it can do in under 6 min. This is also mazda. What mazda could it be?

Just save up enough to catch one of the LMP cars in the used lots, they usually from 4.5 million credits and down, anyone of those will put up a well good fight against the 787B, the Pescarolo's and Audi's will beat it in cornering and overall grip. The Suaber C9 is a monster, along with the Nissan R92CP they are all from the same Group C as the 787B. Don't waste time using any car from below LeMans Prototype class, it will a tough win against an average driver and impossible versus a skilled driver.
The stealth McLaren while a great addition, it's not so great as you can't change a damn thing on the car. It has the same curb weight and about 40 more hp and a rear wing, I'll try to get my hands on a stock McLaren and see if I can turn that into the F1 LM in Historic Orange of course .
For what it's worth... the Mazda Furai is a fair match for the 787B if you consider the track carefully and gear accordingly and are a competent driver.
