Stealth Cars for Free or DLC

I also play Eve Online. They are having growing pains right now with introducing some micropayment stuff. But I like the approach they are taking. Micro payments go to vanity items only, not items that actually affect in-game play.

The collectible stuff should all be out of game, or stuff that doesn't affect game play (suits, helmets, paint jobs, die cast models). If it is in game, as in it is part of the core of the game, it is stupid to not be willing to sell it to everyone.
 
These cars weren't a pre order incentive, they came as part and parcel of the very expensive signanature edition along with the chromes, i for one would be very unhappy to see them as dlc, and I trully believe they never will be, if sig ed owners check it states that these cars will never be made available as dlc on the code sheets, if pd were to release other stealth versions fair enough put them out as dlc for everyone, i fully understand fellow members in regions where it wasnt available unhappiness at not having the option to purchase and that is regrettable and unfair, pd and sony have made some trully crazy decisions with this game right from the off,

On a side note i have a release day signanature edition which came with two stealth car codes sheets one i obviously used the second ive just realized after reading this post reminded me had an expiry date which has expired.. Gutted would it of been worth much?
 
I pre-ordered the collectors edition from Amazon U.S. because there was no way to pre-order in Canada... I would be seriously pissed if they ended up releasing the chrome and Stealth as a DLC...

It truly isn't a lot of money. If it's a lot of money to them, they shouldn't be able to afford to keep paying for internet service. In which case, they shouldn't have wasted their money on a few cars. I really used to say what you're saying now, but it doesn't mean anything anymore. It's a First-World Problem.

I bought the Collector's Edition because the Signature was not available to North America (I have money) so I had to settle for less, is that fair?? I would not have a problem if the Stealth and Chromeline cars were available. People always ask me if the Chromes are available for trade etc etc..

So, you and others can be pissed if these cars become available down the road. Personally I hope they become DLC...

OK, maybe "a lot of money" was a bit excessive. Pardon my exaggeration...

Anyhow, I just think those who are most loyal to the game, and who are most dedicated to getting exclusive content should be rewarded for it, and thus, what's once made to be exclusive should be kept that way
 
I bough the GT5 Collector's Edition, and had a Signature Edition imported, and I really hope the stealth cars become DLC. Whine all you want and say you paid for the cars (I did too, more than likely a lot more than you) but there was a whole lot more than a few stealth cars that came with the Signature Edition so you didn't pay for just those cars. We've had access to them for a year now and I see no reason not to let other GT fans, many who never even had a chance to get them, enjoy the cars.

^^^^ exactly. Enjoy the cars. If only DLC were free, but that's silly. Free DLC is a line crossed into thee unknown. It wouldn't make sense.

I felt like you were exaggerating, I just had to point it out to make you come up with something better that would get you to reword/rethink what you were saying.

It makes complete sense what you've explained and I agree with your point of view, but people shouldn't care unless it's completely new cars. I don't see PD doing this at all, but I for one, would not care. I'd love to share if I had the chance.

The only way I could get the Stealth and Chromeline cars in Canada was to buy the Hong Kong Version and set up a Chinese account! You can not trade the cars or borrow to a North American account! In the end it was not really worth it to buy the rare edition, as I don't play on my Chinese account at all, but the diecast GTR that comes with it is sweet!

You guys obviously have some garbage game stores or idiot clerks in your area. I pre-ordered my collectors edition three or four months before its release. The chromelines are sitting pretty in my garage as I type this. Also, YES! that die-cast GTR is awesome!

I pre-ordered my CE at gamestop.ca at first then realize I could save 13$ at GameSpot.com so cancelled the 1st one and got the other one with the dame bonus as well.
And I too, would pay for Stealth DLC :)

But- I think it would be best to offer it as a pack for $5-$7.50, that way all the "OMGWTFBBQ THEY'RE MAI SPECIAL CARS!!!!11!!" people can sleep with be fact that the non-Signature Ed. owners still have to pay (probably a bit more) for the cars.

BUT- we (the US) never recieved the oprotunity to buy the Signature Ed. (which I would've if it was available). So if PD were to release such a pack, giving NA people a $2 or 1/2 price discount would be good.

It's a debateable topic on pricing, but a no derp that it should be released. Although we are getting the NSX, we never got a chance at most of the other stealth cars. I know the Signature owners would cry if PD did so (reminds me of all the LCE owners when T10 put the VIP on the market place xD), but it's just unacceptable to release cars in one region, but ignore the other regions. Nobody wants to be left out of even having the chance of buying the cars for actual $$$- I sure don't.

As much as I love PD- they need to get out of the whole "exclusive cars" thing. Quite taunting and stupid when there's an event available with an exclusive car that only able to be won by certain people (yes, I'm looking at you EU/JP GTA trials).
 
i agree more stealth cars and chrome line cars too because i couldn't get both of them DLC packs and why not the jaguar XJ13 chrome line car that was only available in europe

As far as I know Europe is the biggest market for the GT franchise. Thus it has made probably more sense to offer a highly priced package in Europe than in the US.

SCEA most likely thought the numbers won't work.

Besides there could be licensing issues. In our global world copyright is still dealt with on a country by country basis.

My opinion is the Stealth cars should remain exclusive. If offered as DLC pricing should be no less than 20€ to reflect this.

I'm sorry for those that couldn't afford to buy the sig edition but thats the way it happens sometimes. From what I'm gathering with the free stealths being handed out then, other than the chromeline cars, what was the point of it? Other than being a money making excercise at the expense of the (it seems) gullible few?
Not overly impressed but hey, **** happens right?

Edit: If the stealths are to be made available, then make them DLC (as I've seen from a few other posts here) and have them bought, like those of us who did buy the sig. edition...

I agree, I payed $100 for the CE, for the Chromelines and all the other stuff that came with it. I would have payed for the SE, but unfortunately, because I live in the US, I wasn't given an opportunity to. So, I don't want them to be given out for free, but if they are a payed content, a SE upgrade if you will, it would have my full support.
 
Yet again, another dubious decision from PD that will appease some American's for sure, anger the other's & infuriate those in Europe as they don't get anything at all. And what's the bet by the time the DLC is released in the US there is a PS+ discount in place, unlike Europe, Aus & NZ etc.....
 
But I want to be a special snowflake! These Chromeline/Stealth cars were incentives to pay more for the game!

If people would like to pay for them, I guess I don't have a problem with that. But I bought my stealths and chromelines... would be ****ed up to drop them as FREE DLC. I was a good fan too and pre-ordered without questions, despite the numerous delays. It wasn't a secret that these Stealths existed, people had plenty of time to pre-order them - PD made damn good sure of that. Fair is fair IMO, the chance to get these cars has passsed - just like the stupid Gillete Camaro.

Oh yeah I'm saying this as I'm downloading the free GTR GT500.
