Those cars are DLC only so you will need a code. I'm sure you can still find codes for purchase if you look hard enough.
 
In the meantime just acquire a matte black paint chip and keep duplicating them. Apply them to the cars you wish to have stealth modded - it's the closest you'll get. I'll send you a matte black later if you want (my PSN is Strickand). The McLaren F1 looks awesome with it, the Type B spoiler and bodykit/extensions.

There is a Ford GT listed under the "Gran Turismo" name in the premium dealership that looks just like a stealth modded car; carbon fiber finish, race modded. It's 3.6 million credits but pure awesome. You might want to get one.
 
If you really want them, eBay is selling them for like 50 USD.
Not including shipping and handling. :)
 
You originally could get them off of buying Signature and Collector editions of Gran Turismo 5, now if you really want them just get them off of eBay.

Before you purchase codes from anyone -- check to see if they are still valid. In the US most stealth codes were for pre-orders and were valid only until January 31, 2011. These cars can't be sold or traded even before the restrictions. There were some UK versions but I don't know if those codes work in the US. Unless at some point in the future they allow you to purchase them from the Playstation Store as an ADD-ON you may be out of luck.

I think PD shouold at some point make them available for winning some special events. Gold the even and get a stealth car.

How does one duplicate a paint color? Never heard of that before.

I've got the Nissan GTR GT500 Stealth, from Best Buy pre-order. I love it to death.

How can you have all (but one) when the signature series was not released in the US? Just wondering how you aquired them as each region has its own codes (EU/Asia/N/S America) and will not work with NTSC formats

North America Collector Editions do not have Stealth Cars, you got one depending on where you preordered though.

Í am against that. Those stealth cars are very rare and if you could win those by winning races, they would lose their rarity.

And (just like me) people have payed to get those cars and it would be unfair to win them for free in races.

You want them? Why didn't you buy the signature edition then? Simple as that, I love that I can quote daan on that. You could still check eBay and such for unused codes, I got mine for like 20 Euros since the signature edition was, sadly, sold out (in the mall near our office) on the release day, so I could only buy the collectors edition.
 
I got mine by trading 9 cars for the 6 stealth codes. I guess that I got very lucky.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if they sold it as DLC but I think that they won't just to keep their exclusivity.

If you read above above, you will see that I did. I would post a sarcastic comment or photo, but I feel like your signature does the trick.

For the other guy, what I meant was I have all but one of the stealths that I can have with my version of GT5. There are a number of stealths that just don't work with my North American version like the 787b (which I would love)I pre-ordered my "collectors" edition because Sig edition wasn't available to us, my collectors came with two codes, I bought the rest off of ebay or traded cars for them.
 
Just my opinion, I don't think anyone should ever have to spend money on these stealth cars. It's just ridiculous. It's "a car in a game", people soon forget about a game after getting bored of it, which is usually a couple of months. These stealth cars are being sold at a pricey rate over at eBay.. PD should include a way to get these cars in the game.
 
North American region should have a way of obtaining the Stealth 787B, Stealth R10 and Chromeline XJ-13, whether it be promo, seasonal events etc. There shouldn't be cars in any region that are 100% unobtainable. The 787B was given out in Japan and the XJ-13 was given out in Europe.

Even though they were given away free (and the XJ-13 still is as of right now) in other regions? I think not.

I partially agree with this, but if they would just make all the cars available as DLC for say $5 to $10 per car they would have more people purchase them. The un-trade-able thing is a good idea too. I wish that PD would just start doing DLC for any standard car in a premium version... I'll keep dreaming though.
 
Are stealth cars more powerful than the standard versions? Are the tuneable limits also higher on the stealth versions?
 
I’m probably bias because I have them, but I don’t think they should be dlc… would make pd a fortune if they did though. Although they might take a hit with gt6 signature edition sales ;)

They are more powerful. The 787b for example has about 30 more bhp and although it’s the same weight it feels more agile and seems to have better traction.

Not all of them are more powerfull, the fully tuned stealth F1 is heavier and lower on bhp than the premium fully tuned by quite a large amount, the stealths only benefit when they are as they come no tuning against its premium model also stock not tuned at all.

Perfectly clear to me. Yet, you suggested to make them available as prize cars, which was the only thing I quoted - not youre entire post.

More powerful, often have a better handling and, of course, reach higher speeds.
 
Duplicating colors is the same as cars - back up your save, send a paint to another account, restore save, send it again, restore save, go to the other account and send the paint chips back. You can only make two a day because of the new stupid limits from that damned 1.07 update. Before that you could have made 5 every day.
 
I have one of them, but I shouldn't...

I had GT5 Collector's Edition pre-ordered on Amazon.com for months. For doing this, they emailed me a code for the SLS AMG Stealth Model. But when the game came out, I decided I wanted it that day and not a week later. So that morning, I canceled the order and went out and bought it in a local store. After I got the game going, I tried the Amazon promo code and it still worked. Got that SLS 👍

Great car, love it.
