steering techniques

how many perople have actually tried different ways of steering?
are you the sort of person who just gives it full on 100 steering in every fast corner or do you lok at the wheels in each corner to see if you are scrubbing the tyres in each corner?
I always used to give it 100% in every corner but have managed to take about 1-1.5 seconds off a lap when i am delicate with my steering, what do you do and how do you steer?

I steer the way that gives my front tires the most traction possible in a turn. More control, more grip, faster the turn.

Just be smooth on the steering.
IMO this is where a wheel has the advantage over the controller.

I suppose i'll tell you before someone else does, use correct spelling and grammar on these boards. Example, xlr8 = accelerate, u = you.

Takes a little while to get used to it but persevere and once you have you'll never go back to the controller.

Mine is permanently set up now (much to the missus annoyance ).
The controller only gets used for non driving games now. I even navigate around the PS3 with the D-pad on the wheel.

There is only one way to steer. Smooth.

1) Less is more. Quality of action over quanity of action.
2) Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

ive found if the tyres arent squealing a bit then you're not going fast enough, but there's a limit, don't want it sliding sideways!

well I always tried to turn as less as possible so I wouldn't lose grip during the corner and won't end up under steering. With such smoothness you can press the pedal really early at the exit of the corner which gives you the edge on the following stretch

I try to keep it as smooth as a possibly can, as I'm using a pad.

Can be quite tricky sometimes.

I'm using the analog sticks and I almost drift through some corners (With R3s) in the GT-R... I expect to have a wheel before the full GT5 comes out, but until then...
