Hello,
For some races or licenses, having the steering wheel on the right side makes it more difficult for me as I am used to have it on the left side (in real life).
Particularly, for the slalom licenses, when most of the car's volume is on my left instead of being on my right (in real life).
So my question is pretty simple:
Is it possible to change the driving side in the settings ?
I haven't seen it...
Thanks for your help!

Don't forget this is a Japanese game where they drive on the left. I'd imagine the wheel is on the side of the country of origin. Isn't that last slalom in the Toyota FT-86?

I try using the interior cockpit view (whenever available) most of the time as I feel this is the most realistic view. However I too really hate the steering wheel being on the right side of the car most of the time:tdown:

However, out of my grievances about the game this is pretty low on the list.

Japan actually drives on the right like in the UK btw, you'll probs notice most Japanese cars have the wheel on the right.

Not always.. there's a French car, Renault or Peugeot that has the wheel on the right side. So it's not based on country of origin...

I'd assume in real life the wheel is indeed on the right side, for whatever reason. Which car is it?

This bugs me because the Ford Focus in the game has right-side driver.... at least keep the driver side to the manufacturer's country...

But if the focus is the Euro version or something, they may have modeled one from the UK. I don't think that version of the focus was available in the States for the year in the game.

If you are using one of the Logitec wheels just move it to the other side of the thing you have it mounted to.
I think the OP was more concerned about the amount of car being on the 'wrong' side of the wheel on screen, not so much the positioning of the race wheel in relation to the wheel on screen.

Maybe I'm saying this because I live in England... but I like the fact that there are a few Euro models with right-hand-drive!

The manufacture might take place in Germany but it's a hugely popular car in Britain.

Don't get me wrong, right-side driver isn't affecting gameplay for me like the OP, I love the novelty of it... I just wish certain cars that I'm used to driving on the left-hand side would be like that in the game, that's all. Maybe even an option to buy certain cars with either driver side? But now maybe I'm wishing for too much...

It is just a fact of life that some cars are right hand drive and some are left hand drive. At least they do not invert the paddle shifters or move the stick to the other side on your setup like it would be for real in these cars.

Anyway if the right hand drive or left hand drive is a problem then use bumper view or roof view on these cars instead. in both case you will be in the center.

Hey even I laught at that and I don't usually laugh at my own jokes. :sly:

How did the topic get this far without someone WTF'ing this post. We drive on the left in the UK, hence the wheel being on the right.

Plenty of Fords have been designed in England; the Ka, Focus, Escort, Sierra, Capri, Cortina and even the GT40, I like that PD recognised that while Turn 10 didn't!

The simple answer is learn to drive both: I deliberately switch my G27 shifter to left or right hand depending on the car I'm driving in-game.

Even though I drive LHD in real life I've become better with RHD in GT5.

Wow, I didn't know the G27 was able to do that... yeah I always felt weird shifting gears with my Driving Force GT when driving in a right-hand side driver car... felt like I had my shifter in the door or something...
