I'm currently thinking about buying the Logitech Driving Pro GT wheel for my PS3 so i can play gran turismo with a greater level of realism.

I have a problem though which i can't see to figure out a solution. What do you use to place your steering wheel on whilst playing. I don't have the cash for a racing seat so what do the people of GTP use in this situation.

All help is greatly appriciated.

I was thinking of the older wooden ones, with scissor-type sides (for sturdiness).

You could also build one with a few feet of lumber and a handful of screws.

That is what i use, a wooden tv tray! To cheap, to buy a racing seat! I also just bought the DFGT wheel for $100.00! So far i like it, had a DFP before this wheel.

erm, i was thinking to get this tv tray idea for my G25, what i wanted to know was are they stirdy in regards to the force feedback etc? i think this folding table idea is more practical for me, as i need the space lol.

thanks.

I've used this lapmount for years. It came with my original Logitech wheel (the one before the Driving Force) and I've kept it over the years through 4 different wheels.

I noticed Logitech discontinued making this part in 2007 but I read recently that the new Logictech wireless wheel comes with it.

I use the DFGT and the wheelstandpro its a very comfortable setup.I would highly recommend the wheelstandpro aswell cheap and easy to setup.

thanks for the info about the wheelstand pro guys, just a quick question have any of you got it on a carpet surface? i was just wondering how the grip and stability was on carpet? also i have my steering set at FFB 5, should the stand be able to cope with that?

I use mine on carpet... it doesn't slide about and it's VERY stable even driving the F1 with FF set to 10.

The WSP is a heavy bit of steel, and of course has the added weight of your feet on the base.

+1 for the Wheelstand Pro. I run it with FFB at 10 on carpet whilst sat on the sofa. No problems.

Mine is also on carpet. It is heavy and it has grippy rubber on the feet.

Here are some pics.

Tucks away nicely under the hutch.

And set up on carpet.

thanks for the piks, looks like its the best thing for space saving, which i need as i live in a flat, thanks again.

Another happy user of the Wheel Stand Pro here!

sorry just another quick question to the g25 users with WSP, does the bar effect how you use the pedals, i cant help but notice a slight obstruction from pictures ive seen.

i use a stand designed for musical keyboards / synthesizers. i lay a board across where the instrument would go, and then attach the wheel.

due to its original purpose, it is extremely adjustable up and down, and tilting forward and back.

i have several. one is wide enough to allow two wheels to be mounted for two player action!

The further the vertical bar is angeled towards you, the less obstructive it is.

Im touching this bar with right leg a little but not always and anyway this doesnt affect gameplay in anyway.

here's my set up. the seat was from the scrap yard. i think it cost a tenner. i made the table out of wood that i found in a skip on a building site and the paint cost a fiver. its sturdy and works fantastic. I just upgraded the old DF wheel with a DFGT yesterday that i got for £63 on amason. if you look around and take your time you shoul b able to sort a good race setup out for around £100 or less
