Steering Wheel

Chances are that used the wheel as a replacement for the analog sticks, meaning when you turn the wheel, it translates that as a percentage of how far you would be moving the analog stick at that time, meaning it would never feel like a normal wheel, You should get a driving force pro, or gt. I have had 1 of each... The pro had to be replaced because falling down stairs is bad. - PROTIP: Don't fall down stairs.

Problem is, I don't have $100. I'm poor lol. I've got just enough to buy a '92 Ford Box Van (buying it for $100, splitting between 4 of my buds works out to be $25 a piece) and plan on stripping it to the frame and rebuilding the motor clean to build a dune buggy with a 351W V8. So no money to buy me a wheel. UGH lol

^ That's the only reason you want to use a controller, you don't have the money for a wheel.
The controller works like a remote control car vs the wheel like driving a car.

played with a controller from gt1 to gt4 sadly
now im older and can afford things , so i got a ps3 and prologue + a wheel and then gt5 , playing with a controller is retarded, i feel sorry for the people that can affort a decent wheel :D

Tell you what, since I have a drive force pro that a friend gave me about a year ago. It's been in my garage in it's box for about 6 months now, it's yours man. Just so you can experience the difference.

A wheel makes the game that much more enjoyable. It really is worth it. Just get the right set up for the wheel and you should be good to go. The driving force wheel is at the right price point and it does deliver.

It's like the old saying, if you gotta ask. You probably can't afford one
He wasn't asking how much it is. He just wants to know what the differences are. Nothing to do with if he could afford it or not. :)

Jesus Christ. It's a 200-500 dollar toy not a fricking Porsche! If you can't afford a wheel you need to stop playing video games and get your life in order.

the seat came with my ae86 when i bought it about a year ago
, the seats were busted and were not the original one from the ae86, they did say toyota (and are bucketish type :) ) so i think they were maybe originally on an aw11 or corolla fx

Playing GT5 with a controller is like masturbating imagining Megan Fox:tdown:
Playing GT5 with a good wheel is like having sex with Megan Fox in person:tup::drool:

Too bad you only know what one of those feels like.

Funny thread this.

I reckon there's so many replies to this thread because, although it only required a quick search which the OP probably figured out after the first few posts, everyone wants to gloat and say how good their setup is :sly:

Shame on you all :guilty:

Anyway, back on topic. I have a G27 mounted on a lovely black Playseat and a massive telly. The difference from using a pad is immense. It really does become a new game!

heh heh heh...

Seriously though, Get the best wheel you can afford, you won't regret it 👍

He doesn't have 100 bucks, that's how much his real life cars cost.
He needs to sell his PS3 and GT5 for Ramen noodles and gas money to get to job interviews

Haha man thats depressing. Get the dollar eight love plate. Pint of white rice with a side of garlic sauce. $1.08 at any trashy chi-knee place

LMAO!! This is def one of the funniest threads that I have read. I myself started with a DFGT since release date and I must say It was hard for me to put the game down. After selling a few family members I can finally afford a G27 which I will be picking up in a few hours. From all the reviews I have seen around the net, I know Its only gonna make the experience even better. GT5 4 LIFE:sly:

DFGT is all you need. 100 bucks. The clutch is pointless on the more expensive wheels

It's like saying "get a ford, no need getting a ferrari since that speed is pointless on public roads".
Clutch works like a charm in GT5 and it's a great feature.

Wheel totally changes GT5, adds a new perspective.

Got my wheel some 2 weeks ago and I'm still mastering it.
Beware, when you get a wheel at first you'll be slower, then you'll match your pad times and only after that (some 3 months) will you actually get faster.
Don't buy a wheel expecting to be faster straight away and you'll be ok.

Get a wheel.
It may not make u faster but it definitely makes gt5 more enjoyable.
Few would regret making a switch (even if there is a learning curve) to wheels if u can afford it

It makes a hell of alot more enjoyable. Especially if you get a wheel with a H-shifter, you can't go better on a console.

When I got my first wheel in GT3, it changed it from being a video game to a driving experience. Different world...

Agree with all the post here.

I played GT3-GT4 and some of GT5 with a controller, been using the DFGT wheel now for the past 6 months and there is no way I could ever go back to using a controller.

Yes there is a learning curve at first but once you start to get better the game becomes so much more rewarding.

Cluth and H-Pattern IS worth it in GT5. Especially in career mode.. On-line it is sort of a disadvantage compared to people using flappy paddles, but great for everything else.

I bought my wheel when GT5p Spec 3.0 was released and was astounded by the difference. I instantly realised the game was made for a wheel and not for playing with a pad.

To not have a wheel is to miss out on the awesome.

Confounded flappy paddles...
