Just wondering if there's going to be any new steering wheels coming out, as i'm going to buy a driving force pro and i want one with a real gearstick and clutch, but the driving force will do, unless there's a new one coming out?
A better one for GT4?

that is the new wheel. it was supposed to come out the same time as gt4, but gt4 kept getting delayed, so they put the wheel out anyways. It works real nice, even on gt3.

well, guess i'll buy it then, i'll have to make up a fakie clutch pedal though :P

If you search around the boards someone had a diagram of how to make a homemade gear box. Pretty cool stuff if you wanted to modify your DFP for it. Works with Gran Turismo too.

I thought that clutch is rather a software issue, and as fas as i now GT4 won't support it. The only console game with this feature i heard of is a Race Driver 2 on X-box, so maybe PS2 version will have it also.

Clutch will just be an extra pedal with no actual function other than, when i use it, i'll naturally hit the clutch to change gears, and let off the accelerator, doube de clutch, etc etc, just so i don't get into bad habbits.

Yes, sometimes i also let off the gas to simulate gear change, but never in time trials :D

PS: You should recognise this: I usually never go full throttle on straights, but this is a time attack so i won't hold back :)))) FD ;)

Interesting idea 👍

I, when driving my DFP, try to minimalize left foot braking.
Yeah when you driving your real life car, bat habbits are not desired.

I saw on Frex GP they sell mods for DFP. Be prepared to "waste" quite a lot of bucks though, because it's very expensive.
I'm dreaming about a 3 pedals set to play with my DFP on my PC.

Edit : corrected link to Frex GP.

What about "be a safe driver"? :)
I remember, when I had my first crash in real life, i was having an Interstate'76 game in mind at that moment...

What's interstate 76'?

If you can really use left foot braking to it's full potential it's a great safety technique. :P

"Don't forget, always use your turn signal, wear your seatbelt, and be a safe driver"

:D

Use left foot braking in FF cars or 4WD only around corners to keep the rev high and keep traction on the front during corner. Can't see any point in using it on a FR car, as you will lose traction.

Do you mean, a manual gate gearbox with an output to opperate the sequential shift in Gran Turismo?

Yes, that's about it 👍 When you shift to e.g. 3rd from 5th, it operates the "gear down" control 2 times 👍

And about left foot braking, when i drove a 320d with AT a couple of months ago (dont ask, i'm 16 but the passanger was a driving school instructor, so it wasn't 100% illegal :sly: ) this was my first reaction, right for gas and left on brake. At this point he asked:: You are a driving simulator freak, am i right ??:lol:
