Well as it stands, depending on where/what I'm browsing the site, the header is not on top but starts at maybe 128 px. That is disconcerting, and besides covers ad banners completely right after retrieval / at top position.

Well, it's obviously not supposed to do that.

Can you share a screenshot of what you're seeing? What kind of device are you using? What OS? What browser?

Interesting... I've not heard of Odyssey before. You're running AmigaOS? I don't even see that showing up in our Analytics report.

Anyway, I have added an option to disable the sticky header. This should resolve your problem.

Also, I'm curious — does this occur with most sites that use a "sticky header" for you? My implementation of it is nothing exotic.
