It's been weeks now and I still haven't been able to connect to gt5 online. I even switched from dsl to cable now. All I get is a long hangtime and then "A connection to the server could not be established". Is anyone experiencing this? Help would be appreciated thanks.

I'm still having the same problem too. My connection isn't the greatest but I can still play other games online just not GT5 :(

Hi buddy, I'm in Australia and had a similar problem about one week ago but worked out after 36hrs how to rectify the problem. I had left my PS3 online for about a week and left it signed in to PSN the entire time. Then I signed out because people kept sending me invites to Black Ops mid race and it was bugging me! When I tried to sign back in it signed in but said "connection to servers [GT5] cannot be established" or something like that. I assumed maintenance but then after over a day I thought it was too long. So I turned off GT5 (not system) and signed in through the XMB. Once signed in I fired up GT5 again and there you have it, connected to GT5 servers first time! 👍 So, if you can sign in to PSN but not GT5 servers then try exiting GT5 and sign in through XMB then get back into the game... Try that! :) Hope it helps! :sly:

I have only had a few issues on release day and when they had the servers down for maintainence

Are you able to connect to PSN?

Have you tried shutting down and restarting, logging into PSN then starting the game?

Edit also are you using a router? If so is it the same router as before? Wired or wireless connection?

This is ridiculous..

It's your PS3, not the game. If you're not just trolling, what NAT type does your PS3 say you have? Got to network and check connection on your PS3.

Is the PS3 yours or is the account a child account with all the online functions turned off through the main account?
Besides that, with a nat 2, you should be good. Try putting the IP of the PS3 as the DMZ on your router or forward teh correct ports using this http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
If that doesn't work, get rid of the PS3.

Yes the PS3 is mines and I have tried DMZ and port forwarding. Get rid of my sexy 80gig fatty? Hell noo.

YES! Got it fixed. Did a hard reset of my router and then used Easy setting to configure my network settings on the PS3. Connects now!
