You would think that with playing gt5 for the best part of 3 months i would know just about everything about it!!! But there i was, messing about within the garage when i found a new way to view my cars.

I knew that when you went into the garage you could change the list system of your cars to a grid by pressing square but on pressing square again i was presented with a much bigger image of my cars in a grid system in 2 rows and pressing again made it into a list like the garage is online.

I know this may be common knowledge to everyone but in 9 weeks of play i thought there was only 2 ways to view the garage dicovering this third way with a larger image of my car just made me smile.

Not sure why it pleased me so much but it did.

So has anyone else had a "oh cool" or "didnt know you could do that" moment recently

P.s now i just hope the update in friday may give me a way off organising my garage in my own personal way :)

Yeah I would like to create custom folders/garages so I can stick all my miatas, skylines, etc someplace out of the way.

ditto for unwanted prize cars - Midget anyone?

I initially sold all my midgets (I kept getting them as prize cars, ticket cars, etc.). Then when I hit level 32 I re-bought one and tuned the hell out of it.

My Bobs are surprisingly good with it in the lightweight cup! It's such a silly, unlikely racecar with the dingy little wheels, the goofy tyre on the bonnet and the pretend-pickup thingy on the back. 👍

Don't laugh but for me it was when i finally noticed the little 'garage' icon in the bottom right corner when your choosing A-spec events.
I used to get so 🤬 off when i be in the wrong car and would have to go ALL the way back to my garage then back to A-spec, i couldn't believe my eyes when i seen that wee garage icon...

I was never quite as bad as you. The first few races I was already in the car that I wanted/needed to be in, but found that icon one day when I was checking the entry requirements. Although not a ground breaking discovery, or something I had overlooked regrettably for the last few weeks, it was still a moment of "Oh, thank **** for that button" moment.

I've taken to playing the game in a more rigid format. At first only A-spec, until I heard about the Zonda R (and the time I was struggling to get a good car) so I went on a B-spec run. But generally, I've been sticking to A-spec mode and the seasonal events in part. Gonna move on to B-spec more hardcore once I have done everything (bar the big endurance) in A-spec. Barely touched Photo Mode, which I'm itching to get in to. Online has seen me log on twice, but never completed a race (one time I was in an Evo, and everyone else in race cars, the other was bad lag/jump effect) Yet to even press the Arcade or Time Trial modes. which I'm hoping will be something a bit different, and more so hoping for leaderboards to be implemented for them just in time for me to start on them and have another side game.

After 9 weeks, I noticed that there are quite a lot of Skylines available in the game or have I missed something?

Yeah, and I've been looking for the right place to post it, so thanks for starting this thread. :)

I was running the A-spec Indy 500 the other day, and when I get an itch or something, I can let go of the controller on a straight so I can scratch, ya know?

I find out later in the race that I can't let go any more. It turns out that as the right side tires wear, the car begins to pull to the right as you go down the straight, moving the car towards the wall. The longer you go before changing tires, the more pronounced this gets. Stop for tires, and the car tracks straight again. Awesome, really great touch! 👍

Wow, I've been playing since it came out and I didn't know any of that. Thanks! I will be trying this out for sure when I get home. Maybe I need to start pressing random buttons at certain times to see if they do anything. lol.

Didn't know it either.

You notice when you're racing in endurance races or arcade races that has fuel consumption have anybody notice in the interior views of the cars actually show your gas running out in your car. I first noticed it in the 370z. Have anybody else noticed this?

Yeah, just the other day, while I was exporting my photos from GT5 to the XMB. Usually, I individually export each picture since day 1. which was launch date, thinking that there was no select multiple function and there it was glaring at me all the time at the bottom part of the screen. Just hold L1 to select multiple pictures. :grumpy:

Now I know lol

I didn't know there was an interior cam showing only the driver at the wheel, in the replay(s) of certain special events, i.e Toscana Lamborghini.

When I took a fully modded Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac (road) to Tsukuba I just  and then took it to the 'Ring...damn  stuff bro.
Repeated that with fully modded: TRD Celica, Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, Ford KA:dunce:, Ford RS200 and Honda Element:yuck:
This is what makes GT a unique game:tup:

I noticed a few days ago that the red light in you hid is for braking, but i also found out that that light is worse then a epileptic ant

...You could have told me that before =/ I didn't know until now XD

i didnt know that the UCD change after every race u finish 6 new cars pop up

And i discovered that if i go to licence tests, and skip to next 5 times i get a fully renewed UCD!

Wait, is this written already anywhere?
Let me see... oh, im late...

... it's faster to start a race, exit, start again 5 times.

You are using stone age techniques, pshhh.

....just saying.

I tested it, and don´t count if i don´t exit completly and enter again. Otherwise at the training i only need to press that button (square + triangle) and its already loading some new cars.

Also, i suspect that the loading time at the training is shorter due it loads only one car instead several...

I usually only drive with bumper cam, and feel that it's a waste with all those beautiful interiors that PD have modelled, so I decided to try a few laps with the interior view.

After trying it for a while I thought that it would be better if you were closer to the windscreen instead of sitting so far back. Anyway, I was trying out removing all the hud from the screen to get a more 'sim' or 'real' experience while driving, so I went into the 'quick menu' (accessible by pressing start) and turned off all hud.

It was here I saw an interior view option, you can choose 'standard', 'narrow' or 'narrower'. I treid them out and they bring you closer to the windscreen!! In the majority of premium cars, if you select 'narrow' while in interior view you can see just the top of the steering wheel and all the instrument cluster, for cars that display the gear and revs clearly this view is amazing and works great if your using a wheel close to your TV/monitor. I now use this view all the time, (except when driving standard cars then it's bumper cam again!).

Feels a lot more realistic after getting used to it, in some cars you need to look right or left to see mirrors. Anyway, only discovered this a few days ago! Try it!!

But you can't do any work on the car that way (oil change, new parts, etc). That would be a time saver though!
