OK, so i've been trying the same damn challenge on the same damn track for 6 (yes, 6!) hours now. i still cant get bronze on it. It's the vettel challenge on suzuka. this is driving me mad! I can usually get a lap in, but the second is eother too slow or i **** up, and have to restart. can anyone help me do this? im running a 1:10-13 lap time. everything is off accept TCS which is on 1, ABS is on 1 and skid recovery is on. i have my tv on mute to conentrate but its just not getting me any faster. ive only finished once and that was 8 seconds too slow

Turn off TCS, you don't need it with this car.

Maybe a higher ABS setting if you find it hard to control when braking.

im not having dificulty braking, its just kepping pace and staying off the grass ¬¬ ill get about 20 disquals before i get a single lap complete

Really, bronze is very easy now, all you really need to do is keep the car on the track. Don't try to go round hell for leather, you don't need to. Keep the car steady and in the middle of the track, helps me take the corners a bit easier. If you are using a DS3 put the steering Sensivity to 7, should help a bit too. Just my suggestions.

Personally, I can't play this game at all without the sound, so I don't know how that makes it easier.

Try bumping up the steering sensitivity to 3 or 4.

Maybe, if you're feeling extra masochistic, run the Suzuka 1000 k race for practice, assuming you have an x2010 in your garage.

I feel like you just stole my life and posted it in here. I spent about 4 to 5 hours the other day trying to get through the first race. I could get the 1st lap done but I would screw up on the second and be disqualified OR I would actually finish both laps but I'd be anywhere from 5-10 seconds slow. I gave up on it, I'll just wait till I have enough money to get a wheel. It's the only car I've never been able to master with a DS3.

I've literally done this ----> :banghead:

of course doing that might be part of the reason I can't get bronze lol

Do you use the driving line?

It helps with the X2010 because it's so fast, it's hard to think of a line so quickly.

dont have a ds3, no money at the moment and yeah, will try slowing things down abit

i read that you can concentrate better without the sound, which seemed to work. and no, unfortunately this will be my first x2010

thanks, will try with racing line. let you guys know how it gets on
EDIT:
ok so after trying the racing line, i found it incredibly distracting and couldn't get past the S section.

I bronzed this challenge before the update made it easy using a DS3.

Like most people, I found it hard at first, but after turning the driving line on, it was much easier. It also helps if you turn off the music.

With this new update, I can probably get silver, maybe gold if I spend enough time.

Don't mute your TV, mute the music. You need to hear the car.

I finally won with a DS3 controller. It's much more difficult than you think.

If it helps, keep the volume down.

wow I'm a MASSIVE idiot for not realising that

Haha, it's all good.
As shepzski mentioned, try turning the steering sensitivity to the max, 7. Should help a bit keeping the car somewhat controllable.

yeah just trying that now :)

EDIT:after putting sensitivity up to 7. found it too sensitive. moved it down to 4

Bad idea (imo) to use a driving line, you will spend all the time trying to follow it and even more time in the sand. Just have a few practise laps, start off going round slowly and just try to increase the times a little bit at a time, you will get there eventually. 👍

yeah OK. thanks for all the help guys, and the fast reply times :)

Follow threads much big guy?

Well those posts were made only a couple minutes prior to mine. I was in the middle of a reply and then was forced to walk away because my kid was crying. Excuse me for not refreshing the page to check for a response but my child comes first.

I feel your pain!! Got to level 35 the other day and went straight to the vettel challenges. IMO monza and nurbergring gp were easy but suzuka was tricky. Set controller sensitivity to 4 or 5 this will help. The key for me is the s bends at the start try to take it easy here and just concentrate on not going off. Then really nail the next two right handers. After that the course is easy just keep trying!!!!

This event isn't that hard if you take it down a notch. For me, I was so used to pushing a car to it's limit, and the x2010's are so hard to control when pushing it as far as it can go...my eyes can't keep up. I slowed it down a little bit and was far more successful. I don't use a ds3 though so that could be the difference.

I try to "slow it down" but I still have a hard time keeping it on the track and I still run between 1:15-20. :grumpy:

It really is beyond me how anyone can bring themselves to have more than 3 tries at this, I have not yet even passed the first corner on Suzuka with out that infuriating 'disqualified' screen coming up! What is it with that screen, why do I need to resart?

Was it because a milimetre of tyre when on the grass?

I hated this challange well before I unlocked it and I hate it even more now, seriously, if you want the fast redbull car X1 or whatever its called then you are awarded it in B spec anyway (level 35?).

All the time you've spent on this (and for what end?) you could have some real fun racing online, thats the 'game' for me now everything else is meaningless.

One of the things that helped me was to visually lead the track, especially on the turns. In other words, I look farther down the track, and on the turns, I look past the turn and let my peripheral vision take the turn. Using the line indicator tends to change our field of vision to immediately in front of the car; however, the X2010 moves too fast to be that short-sighted, so to speak. My problem is consistency on the second lap. I've got a 1.01 Monza on the first lap with a DS3, but can't put together a second lap without tensing up.
