This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #18:

Non-Racecar Super Lap: target 1:09.000 - Matterhorn Dristelen - 600PP - SH

GT500 Super Lap: target 1:23.000 - Laguna Seca - 600PP - RH

Special Note:

A few members are in the process of implementing a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This will come "soon". ;) For now you should start to consider using the following format and info for your entries:

PP - Lap Time - Car (try to include manufacturer) - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...3veLfq0sXhvwiPYMUGw/edit?pli=1#gid=1662902344

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then lap time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on lap time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best lap time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

My times so far with an automatic transmission and a wheel:

Non-Racecar at Matterhorn:
567PP – 1:12.181 – Ford Shelby GT500 15th Anniv ’13 – SH – FR – 689hp – 1670kg [Horrible understeering! Probably doable with manual and use of e-brake...]

496PP – 1:12.168 – Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71 – SH – FR – 347hp – 1200kg [It wasn't the Dino!]

536PP – 1:12.035 – Shelby Cobra 427 ’66 – SH – FR – 484hp – 1068kg

556PP – 1:11.690 – LCC Rocket ’07 – SH – MR – 165hp – 390kg

566PP – 1:08.854 – SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition ’13 – SH – FR – 640hp – 1556kg

GT500 at Laguna Seca:
597PP – 1:21.678 – Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth Model – RH – FR – 545hp – 1050kg

I think I only have two GT500 cars: one I purchased (Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth) and the 15th Anniversary HSV. It's possible I put RS on another one and it didn't show up in my event "Change Car" list. The Nissan had 3 PP less so I used it and beat the gold time on my first lap. There are no GT500 prize cars are there? Awaits @MadMax

Yep , none.

Non-Racecar at Matterhorn:

GT500 at Laguna Seca:

560PP - 1:22.795 - Honda ARTA NSX '00 - RH - MR - 481bhp - 1150kg
409PP - 1:47.933 - Nissan 180SX Type X '96 - CS - FR - 203bhp - 1220kg

And drift trials
86/FR-S/BRZ - 4998pts Subaru BRZ S '12 SH 407pp/198bhp/1230kg
Tuned Car - Re Amemiya FD3S RX-7 10033pts SS 513pp/366bhp/1240kg

Right-O, had a nice little session and cracked out a few decent laps:

600PP Non-Racing Car Super Lap at Matterhorn Dristelen - SH
519 - 1:08.891 - Pagani Zonda C12 '00 - SH - MR - 388 - 1250
576 - 1:07.189 - Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce '09 - SH - 660 - 1565
564 - no time set - Saleen S7 '02 - SH - MR - 550 - 1250

600PP GT500 Super Lap - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - RH
597 - 1:20.174 - Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth Model - RH - 542 - 1050
560 - 1:25.916 - Honda RAYBRIG NSX '00 - RH - MR - 473 - 1150
409 - 1:49.555 - Nissan 180SX Type X '96 - CS - 202 - 1220

The Zonda was quite a challenge and I enjoyed that one, the Lamborghini was easy but I did nail the first two sectors in my lap. The Saleen is a pig...way out of my driving capability at Matterhorn.

The Stealth was an easy win but I didn't want to fork out another massive sum after failing with the RAYBRIG which just spins at low speeds too easily. The 180SX is a blast to drive and if I was to vote for a car that everyone had to have a go at, that would be it :)👍

P.S. I've updated the spreadsheet.

Here are some times I've accumulated over the past few days. These stock challenges are really pushing me to improve my skills! In the past I was content to just get gold and collect my credits and paint. Big thanks to all involved for hosting these!

600PP GT500 - Laguna Seca
593PP - 1:22.736 - Lamborghini NOMAD Diablo GT-1 '00 - RH - MR - 591 - 1200
600PP - 1:21.888 - Honda HSV-010 GT 15th Aniv - RH - FR - 591 - 1100

600PP Non-Racecar - Matterhorn Dristelen
565PP - 1:08.418 - Pagani Zonda C12S '00 - SH - MR - 543 - 1350
572PP - 1:06.771 - Tommykaira ZZII '00 - SH - 4WD - 542 - 1000
572PP - 1:08.708 - SRT Viper GTS 15th Aniv '13 - SH - FR - 665 - 1556
584PP - 1:07.329 - Mercedes-Benz AMG VGT - SH - FR - 576 - 1385
512PP - 1:10.531 - Lamborghini Miura P400 '67 - SH - MR - 349 - 980
560PP - 1:12.542 - Caterham Seven Fireblade '02 - SH - FR - 157 - 369
489PP - 1:13.777 - Mitsubishi HSR-II '89 - SH - 4WD - 344 - 1200
453PP - 1:17.269 - Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 '67 - SH - FR - 325 - 1468

The ZZII is a beast on this track. Someone with a wheel and better skills should be able to get a lot more out of this car. Miura and Zonda were a lot of fun here. Had high hopes for the Fireblade, but it just doesn't have enough grunt to handle the uphill sections.

I ran the El Camino just for laughs, and ended up having an absolute blast with it (and hit a bronze time, to boot). Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

@Hastatus , you Ferrari Dino time is way off. Or car / specs.

Toyota FT-1 - Dristelen Matterhorn Night
(No tweaks - Stock car, but not brand new, I guess 180 miles on the clock now. ABS=0 TCS=0 Danger=11)

Had a hoot with this car - 30 minutes and 22 laps before I finally jumped out of the car and pulling my shirt over my head and ran down the pitlane Ravenelli style.

The down side my saved replay has the car looking like it is made from a bowl of week old rice pudding - all lumpy and bumpy from the slight brushes with the concrete.

The car isn't easy to drive here... brakes lock up instantly and the car isn't that happy to get the powah down out of the slower corners too. But after 3 laps I was half a second away - so I knew the car could get gold if only the driver could tame the track! Loads of dirty black rubber lines too.

???PP - 1m08.840 - Toyota FT-1 - SH - FR - ??? - ????kg
1m08.840
17.2/25.4/26.2 on the splits.
Not sure on the numbers

I keep forgetting about the Vision cars, I might give a couple of those a go this afternoon...is that groovy Volkswagen eligible? I forget it's specs but I enjoyed driving it around Madrid.

As for the Tommykaira, that exact combo was a WRS race back in Week 9 (race, results) it was tuned but that car was a blast to drive so I totally agree with you @s_mushrooms.

@MadMax, awesome work again in taming cars that I just couldn't imagine ever getting under control...that Saleen was a nightmare 👍

413PP - 1:16.587 - Ferrari Dibo 246 GT '71 - SH - MR - 191bhp - 1080kg

You were right. Nice catch. 👍 I hope you didn't spend too much time trying to beat my wonderfully impossible Dino time. ;) Went back to my recording and I had written down the info for the wrong Ferrari. My eyes must have jumped a line. At least it was a car from the same year. Glad I kept a recording for this one or my mind would have been wondering what tricks had been played. I corrected my entries: it was actually the Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71. :O

@MisterWeary, I'm afraid the VW VGT doesn't qualify for this one. I'm pretty sure the AMG is the only VGT car that isn't classified as a racer (unless you count the FT-1).

@MadMax, nice time with the Miura. I knew that car could hit gold, just not with me at the helm 👍

I just noticed my dad did his time with the Nissan 2020 but it needed detuning unfortunately, I was thinking that or the Aston could have been fun. Anyway I had a crack in another Lamborghini...I quite like how they drive:

600PP Non-Racing Car Super Lap at Matterhorn Dristelen - SH
557 - 1:08.759 - Lamborghini Reventon '08 - SH - 4WD - 649 - 1665

It wasn't easy to get the Gold time but the way it slides around is pretty predictable which made it fun to play with.

I felt guilty about using up so many of my hard earned credits buying all these different cars so I went and smashed out the Red Bull Championship again...the more I do that championship the more I like it 👍

Spent about 20 million Cr. buing cars for the Non-Race Car event. (most of that went to the Miura)

I started updating the leaderboard and I did all of the non valid times but still needed to do the valid ones before I ran out of time. If no one else updates it, I'll do it at some point in the next day or two 👍

Ok I updated MadMax top 2 cars

Okay, I think I've updated the leaderboard with every time in this thread...some pretty awesome times from everyone 👍 I don't know that I'll get the PS3 time to have any more laps since we'll be getting new races in a couple of days and @MadMax has created a cracking WRS race this week too, good luck to anyone still Matterhorn'ing :)

The Muira time is mine, not Nowcontrol, will fix on LB , and for OP don't you think there should only be the 1st car to be posted with passing time?

Apologies for that @nowayback 👍 As for 1st car posted...I don't know, I like seeing a list of all cars used and times and PPs but I guess it's up to everyone to decide what the leaderboard should contain.

I used the GT500 GTR and the GTR Black Edition to gold both events. I think with a little more tuning I'm gonna give the Black Edition a run at it online against the GT500 times. I'll post the tunes here later today.

I also had some ok runs with the C7 Corvette and am messing around with a few fwd cars and might even throw a F150 truck tune out there if I can figure out a way to keep it from launching 100 feet in the air.

Ok, forget this. I tuned the living you know what out of my cars not knowing about the limitations to tuning. I'll go back to stock setting and see what happens. I've got good lines around the tracks so I'm gonna have to practice a bit more.

I'm not sure what this means. Are you saying that if after posting the first post I post three times with three cars before everyone else they will all have to use only those cars for the rest of the event? e.g. everyone would have to use the SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition ’13 just because that was the first car I was able to gold the event with? This sounds like a bad idea to me. But anyone who wants to limit themselves in this way could just go to the first cars posted and use only those cars for themselves. I do not think limiting people is a good thing. It's more fun to see what people can find that works. If I were to do what you suggest, there would be a lot of Shelbies (spelling?) and 60s cars, because generally I run the events before starting up the thread so I know that I fully understand what they entail. What if the first car is a 20 million dollar car? What if it's a standard car and you only drive premiums?

I am saying for instance, that MadMax posted a passing time with the Muira...under 1:09...later I also did under 1:09. Only the 1st MadMax should be on LB. I actually posted my time cause I hadnt seen MM posted it on LB. Or else the LB will essentially become a TT board. And not which cars are capable of a passing time. This encourages the use of many more different cars.

I see what you mean, so rather than multiple times for the same car we're all essentially testing a variety and the list is a summary of which cars can get under the goal time. I think that's not a bad idea but I also like being able to try out cars that others have tried...so this week for instance @MadMax tried the 180SX at Laguna Seca...that seemed awesome to me so I wanted to give it a go too. The way the leaderboard is now allows both a list of cars that can beat the time and a TT style LB...it means people can try to find a car that hasn't been successfully used yet or they can try to beat someone's time on the board...both options are accommodated...but maybe it's too much info in one spreadsheet?

This is exactly why I bought the Miura in the first place.

I just had to see if the Caterhamn and Miura were good for gold. :sly:

But since people have got gold in cars such as Pagani Zonda C12 , C12S and Reventon , Viper GTS launch , SuperVeloce and MB AMG VGT , I didn't buy the cars and try to beat the times.
Because I have the feeling this list is meant for finding out what cars are capable of gold.

My vote is to leave things as they are for now, for exactly these reasons. I really liked seeing results from different people using the same car, and after looking at the variety of cars posted I don't think there's any shortage of experimentation. Besides, there looks to be only 7 people participating in this, so what's the harm in listing everyone's results? If this were like the in-game LBs where there are pages and pages of times for the same car, then I'd agree with the idea of only keeping the first time posted.

I guess I didn't really view the spreadsheet as a "leaderboard", per se. I saw it more as a way to collect and compare everyone's results in a uniform way, instead of having to sift through all of the posts.

I just had to see if the Caterhamn and Miura were good for gold. :sly:

Which is what I was hoping would happen when I first posted my results. I know I don't quite have the skill (or patience) to get the most out of every car, so I was definitely curious to see what better drivers could do. Very happy to see that I inspired someone take it up. 👍
