The new camber and toe settings are killin' me. All cars stock settings seem to have changed, most for the worse. Some can't be changed like the 250 GTO or Toyota VGT. Loaner cars like the ones used in the Redbull championships can't be modified either. The extreme rear toe and camber shifts the balance toward understeer but if you overstep the rear grip the car reacts violently. It can be very difficult to bring the vehicle back in line as well.

It's a small change but it has a big affect. Enough to kill the fun for me. Does anybody else think it was a mistake to make these changes?

I think they tried to emulate factory default settings for most cars. Most cars run quite a bit of rear toe and camber in order to make them stable in a straight line at highway speeds and make them understeer in turns.

What they did to the Ferrari 250 is deplorable though. The fact you cannot change it is a foolish oversight and ruins what should be one of the finest cars in the game.

A Fully Adjustable Suspension should be exactly that. No exceptions.

I tune my suspension so I don't experience this problem. Sucky stock allignment settings make more people wanting to tune their suspension, so I'm all in for this!

Well, personally I do not like tuning cars. I run a ton of spec racing and some cars have made a change for the worse. For example, the Formula Gran Turismo now has 3.5 degrees of camber in the rear (like most race cars in the game now). This has made the car extremely unstable, especially on road courses and when the tire wear starts to kick in.

EDIT: This does not make me want to tune my car. It makes me want to be a better driver. ;) Really, what is PD thinking?

I know a lot of people like to set up their own suspensions, but I like to drive lots of different cars, and I don't want to buy hundreds of full custom suspensions. I am glad to hear others opinions though.

Has anyone done the RedBull championships lately. They were some of my favorite single player events, but now I don't think they're any fun at all.

What bothers me with this, from what I've seen, is that many cars in GT now share the same exact camber/toe values 'across the board', whether its a Viper and a Vitz, or an old muscle car & a new muscle car. (usually 1.5 rear camber & 0.60 rear toe)

Not every car on the road today share the same alignment specs and/or setup as the others on the road, yet in GT-land they're all poised for understeer. I don't think that's right, that's why I've started using KW Suspension values in the tuning menu with cars, makes tuning quicker for me, if a bit stressful finding the data you want. (Supra specs were worth it though :D)

Check my Tom's Advox Supra if you want the alignment specs :) PD needs to hire extra staff dedicated to input real life data into the cars :p I find cars with real life alignment, spring rate values and weight distribution, can drive very well when damper, ARB and LSD are tuned properly.

Some cars IRL do have high rear toe in, cars like Honda / Acura NSX ( NA1 ), Ferrari 512BB, some FF like Nissan March / Micra :)

Thanks for the offer, but I'm actually running my own alignment-spec for my Supra, while using the proper spring rate for the KW Variant III coilovers, and slightly tweaking the rest to my own personal preference. Needless to say using 'actual' values in GT's tuning has breathed new life into both my MK.IV Supra and 300ZX projects 👍

I've actually been thinking about opening a pole in the Tuning section, asking whether GTP members tune via actual specs/rates/settings or just 'wing-it' and throw numbers at a car until something sticks, haha

To my knowledge, You are the only Tuner who runs actual 'values' on all cars and credits the source, to some extent. I want to test more cars and compare them to 'wing-it' tunes of other Tuners, but its past 10pm for me and I should be sleeping :scared:

The alignment that I usually posted with my replica are a set of range that are used IRL ( manufacturer, garage or suspension maker ), and drivers will have to try and decide which values works best for them, after all IRL most cars can have from slight toe out to toe in in alignment range.

It's not like PD doesn't have each and every cars' suspension set ups, they do. Thing is why do they select a setting for every car which nearly every car uses except for a random few which will have different settings. I have a feeling that it's about a balance for ease of driving for the bulk of cars. Problems driving the FGT's is down to PD removing the hand holding and letting your downshifts eat you alive if you aren't careful when using these cars. There is still a lot of hand holding going on in GT6, it's a balance that PD is trying to find. I do wish that they have full sim mode that blankets the cars with their real setups, completely removes SRF from appearing at all as an option, cars that do not have brake controllers shouldn't and cars that have poor brakes should it's all in the numbers.
Cars should reflect the numbers plugged in and those wanting an unadulterated experiences should be able to get just that, I don't mind if the game comes stock for the masses as long as I can go into options and choose professional mode and the game reloads in that mode and trust me I won't look back.

As far as the stock alignment settings they are ok for the bulk of the cars and you'll definitely come across some that are messed up because PD testers missed the check box that this car has a full custom suspension, LSD and aero. It's been happening since GT3 I think, GT2 was much better with correct values appearing and adjustability being correct.

They say they do, but obviously they don't. The weight distribution is awful for many standard cars. Couln't they at least get close? I love Gran Turismo but that just makes the inconsistency and flaws that much more frustrating.
