Ouch. Sadly, that car is probably parted out by now. :indiff:

Did he not have an alarm? If that was my car it would have an alarm and a switch to disable the ignition.

As much as I don't care for Hondas, I feel sorry for the fellow gear head. Sadly, R1600Turbo is most likely right. It's probably been parted out by now. :(

Cool thread but if someone stole my car or truck I want the person back with the vehicle so I can peel his/her skin off & pour salt all over them. My vehicles are family & when you **** with my family you pay dearly.

Hey. Like one of my favorite quotes and modos I live by... "Revenge is a meal best served cold"

This one popped up on Jalopnik. One of their writers' Beetle has been stolen from the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, and he's had this thing since he was 18. Full article and additional information about the Bug is here.

Shame that it was stolen, especially considering they could drive a couple of hours to Mexico and buy so cheap.

We have news on the missing Beetle. Jalopnik user 'Jake' posted pictures of the Bug but with no headlights and no roof-rack. He gave no clue to his whereabouts, so does anyone recognise this area?

EDIT: The crafty users of Jalopnik managed to track the location down and the owner of the Bug has contacted the police. Looking on Google Maps the house it was parked outside of seemed to be a chop shop. :scared:

Kind of gruesome, but I feel the same way, with any car 👍

Been looking through this thread and I can't help but feel sorry for those who have had to go through such emotional pain of losing their beloved cars. Pains me to think how such a situation could affect any of my friend, family, or myself. Considering how special my Toyota Crown is...I'll definitely do my best to keep it secure!

Have to say that was a great read off of the Jalopnik story, been looking through those posts and it's great to see how the internet's been utilized to find these stolen vehicles. Thanks for posting it! 👍

Just a small idea, but I think that if we all were to put this thread (+url) into our signatures, it would probably get more people to see this, so more people can help on different car searches 👍

Browsing Facebook, when I saw this update from Bridge To Gantry that caused this thread to come to mind.

Someone in the UK just had their Audi R8 stolen, last seen on the M42 heading towards the M6. It's a blue Audi R8 with the V10 engine and silver sideblades, a vehicle worth more than £110,000 or nearly $170,000. If you see this vehicle, please call the police.

stolen Audi R8 V10

Hopefully (or not hopefully, depending on how you look at it) the people that stole this R8 are as stupid as the people that stole an R8 around here. They took it to a BP and put diesel in it. You can almost understand their logic as Audi uses a lot of diesels but at the same time you can't understand it at all because it's just stupid. They ended up ruining the engine and left it on the side of the road, and they didn't even know how to drive stick, they were lucky enough to get it started.

Agreed.

It's like stealing a car with On-Star. My honest opinion. If you steal a car with On-Star and you get caught (like by remote shut down, GPS ect). Pretty much you should go to jail for life because let's face it you are too stupid to be in the general public

24 Hours Of LeMons Founder's NSX Stolen!
Jay(Lamm)'s Acura NSX is black, has California license plates number 4YHE903, and I think is a pre-1995, but I'm honestly not certain. It's in fairly immaculate condition as well.

Got another one, this time a classic '77 Lincoln stolen from St. George, Utah. It looks absoloutely brilliant, so I hope the owner gets it back in good condition.
Five years ago, I bought a barely-running, rather hard on the eyes, 1977 Lincoln Continental. The dark, sun burnt, brown paint complimented the brown interior quite nicely. The vinyl top had enough tears and rips to look eerily like a dried lake bed. A series of bent push rods meant that the forty-six thousand pound, late 70's American aircraft carrier had about two cylinders to power it. Over the next five years I slowly transformed the car from the redneck destruction derby machine it was into something looking more appropriate for a Las Vegas drug dealer. The budget was shoe string, and the night hours long, but I've never had a car that had more of my personal love, work and sweat into.
And last night it was stolen. With no leads, the one car I loved more than any other disappeared into the night. A police report has been filed, and friends alerted to keep an eye out for it, but heaven knows nothing matches the power of Jalopnik readership. It would mean more than the world to me to see a quick photo of the missing "Glen Levit" (as it's been nick-named), and to have any leads be forwarded to myself (grantliban@gmail.com) or the St. George City Police Department here in Utah.

Full article on Jalopnik.

I hope he gets it back. :( That's not a bad looking Continental.

Terrible. I would never want to go through something like especially after restoring it. I plan to keep a sharp eye on my Mustang once I'm finished with it.
