Strange choice of prize cars

Is it just me or are some of the choices of prize cars rather strange?

For example, I've just won the vitz cup in beginner league and won..... a vitz!?!? đź‘Ž

What do I want that for if I've already got one (which i'd won previously anyway?)

I was slightly annoyed at that.

I know there are two versions, is it the Euro edition and the the 1.5J but there can't be that much difference.

Also, in the lightwieght cup, you win a mini, which is only elgible for ....the lightweight cup!

It could be these prize cars are better for doing similar races at a higher level or something, i don;t know, I haven't got that far, but it seems a bit strange to me. I'd rather win a Skyline or something.

Am I missing the point here (I suspect I am)

Firstly, welcome to GTPlanet!

Come and join Team Mini. We'll show you what a Mini is for!!!
The Mini is eligible for anything without restrictions. I've personally won the 2hr Rome endurance race in a fully tuned Mini. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE IT!!!

Also, suggest you look on the homepage for GTPlanet for the Ultimate Prize Car List. It'll tell you what you win for every race series in the game. Also search for save/reload trick to ensure you get the car you want.

The moderators here on GTP are very keen on using the search function first, before you ask questions about things that have been covered before and open a new thread.

I beg your pardon, my mistake, its actually the Gran Turismo 3 page here on GTPlanet that you need to look at for the prize car lists. They're nicely divided into sections for each of the leagues and licence tests.
 
I think you're missing the point. He's not asking, "What are the prize cars?" he's asking "Why do you get a prize car eligible for only the race you just did?"

I completely agree with him. But there is nothing to be done about it..... :meh:
 
I'm afraid the reasoning behind PD's choices for prize cars remains safely in the hands of PD. I guess they wanted to have a booby prize for some of the competitions, but I don't think they were counting on the ol' save & reload.
 
Yeah, in fact, almost my first post at GTP a couple years ago was a rant on this very subject. The Mini is eligible for other stuff, but it especially ticks me off to win a car that you are guaranteed is a duplicate, like the Vitz or the TT.
 
You're right TriplePlay its the odd choice of prize car I was getting at.

It just seems strange on the basis that everywhere else there is so much attention to detail etc and yet in some cases the prizes seem pointless.

I've just a Skyline though, so that has opened up the Beginner 4WD cup, so that makes sense.

As smallhorses suggested I have had a further look thru' the prize lists/. I hadn't looked in detail as a rather liked the idea of getting a suprise (!) but looking at the amatuer and pro leagues, the prize cars do get better and better.

And yes, I've sold the Yaris!
 
I did get a strange color in my vitz- I got my precious pink vitz!! :O
