Strange Jeans

I had a hat that my dad bought in 1979 at Yankee Stadium and I lost it while on our speed boat, I had worn that hat in Italy! It had sweat rings on it.

My daughter just bought a pair of really nice-looking jeans at a mall store, paid 3 times what they're worth, and SPENT 2 HOURS on them with scissors and a pocket-knife, slashing and gashing. Then she was mad because the she couldn't make the cuts look worn and frayed, they looked like "new" cuts. (Duh?)

Apparently she saved money buy buying good jeans and distressing them herself.

To me, jeans have always been work pants, or "I don't care what I look like right now, I just wanna be comfortable." I've never treated them as a fashion item of any kind.

OTOH, I can't think of ANYTHING I've ever treated as a fashion item, or any time I've ever really cared what I look like. I'm a balding, fat, married, straight guy!

Disregard. . . .:dopey:

Well, almost. If it wan't for those stamps...

We all do things in the name of fashion but I would like to know what rock you have been living under, I am OLD (ask my son-whats he call himself now-Ricky Fitness or something silly like that) and jeans have been a fashion item rather than a piece of work clothing since before I was your age (and thats a long time).

I was thinking the same thing. Jeans have been "normal" legwear for as long as I can remember.

Maybe it's just starting to catch on in New Zealand?

I figure I should weigh in on the subject, as I wear jeans for the majority of my time that I am wearing pants. As long as they are clean and appropriately presentable I've worn them to interviews, the office, and even got married in jeans.

The key piece in that is appropriately presentable. I wouldn't wear torn blue jeans to work, but I would wear a pair of pressed black jeans. Granted, now I work on a construction site, and wearing Jeans with a tear is OK.

Jeans are becoming more accepted than they used to. Yes, you can even wear them to Church.

I wore jeans to my job interview at Ford. I meant to wear the dress pants that I am wearing now, except I forgot them at home.

I also wore jeans and a regular everyday t-shirt to a new church one time, to see how they would receive me.

When I go dancing I wear my designer blue jeans, they fit any occassion... impressing a girl, playing basketball, and even being appropriate enough for that interview.

I actually ripped my jeans on a fence a few weeks ago, but everyone thinks they were already like that and they say it looks really cool :D

i have 3 pars, and 3 of them have a purpose dis torted look (creases and colouring)

I've got 10 pairs of jeans, 3 of them have a tear or two in, most of thoes I wear when I'm doing some DIY or something where they might get messy. The rest are all in pretty good condition.
