What's the strangest gaming experience you've ever had, GTPlanet?

I'd have to say mine was about 5 years ago, back in the days of Age of Empires. If you're familiar with the origional AOE you'd know that when you built a tower the screech of an eagle was played. Anyway one day when I was playing AOE I built a tower, and this screech went out, and a huge bird ran straight into my closed window .... no doubt due to the eagle sound ... shared the (!) outta me. :scared:

Tell us your strange gaming experiences.

I was playing The Settlers: HOK a few hours ago and when it started to rain in the game, it started raining outside. Considering how long it's been since it last rained, that's pretty strange.

Bah, you were up for the rain? Our rain happenned while I was sleeping.

Easily playing GTA: SA with ALL cheats on.

VERY difficult gameplay. And hilarious.

My strangest gaming experience is probably helping my friend navigate through GTA:VC when I wasn't playing the game. Didn't think I knew the game that well. :O

Sometimes when I use the DS2 or a handheld console of some sort my whole body except my hands seem to not be there and only thing I notice is the screen. Its so weird.
I've also tried 2 person racing with a steering wheel(One person wheel and gears, another Throttle and brake.

Agree. I hate the birds flying into windows when you're so inte the game that you could nuke the room next to you whitout even niticing. But somehow the birds always scares the living shxt out of me. :nervous:

My sister was playing sims and our house ws full of trash, so the fly noise was playing constantly.

A robbin then flew in through the window. :irked:

years ago i played n.i.c.e.2 for hours straight and i was just driving on one of the egypt tracks when i heard a deep mumbling voice that i couldn't locate...it scared the hell outta me, i stopped playing and looked around shivering...then i heard it again and it came out of the damn speakers, it was played in some part of the egypt track.

My strangest gaming experience was when i was playing Manhunt at 2am.....

Scarey stuff im telling ya...
:nervous:

once i was playing Counter Strike at around 3 A:M when I heard someone call my name but in like in a whisper, i turned around and there was no one there and my mom and sister where asleep. :nervous:

I once ran into a guy named Famine while playing CS. It wasn't the Famine we all know and love though...

Come to think of it, I really haven't had any really weird experiences while gaming. About the only strange stuff I can think of is that I tend to play better when I'm sick (My record in CS is 26-0, which I got when I was nursing a bad cold), and if I'm playing a driving game, I tend to have a Top Gear style review of the car going through my head. Although I do that when I'm driving in real life too... except speaking out loud... while others are in the car. Thankfully most of my friends have seen a few episodes, so they know why I'm talking like that.

*EDIT*AHA! I finally remembered a strange gaming experience. One christmas, I was at a friends house where his family was having a large christmas party. So, a bunch of us were sitting around his X-Box playing Halo 2. It was my first time playing Halo 2 (I'd already played Halo 1 a few times, and did well at it), and I was kicking my friend's ass at it, despite the fact he owns the game and I rarely play any fps with a gamepad. And he wasn't bad at it either. So, a few minutes after I won the round, some kids, maybe 10 years old came to play against me. I figured 2 kids teaming up on me would be like a Turkey shoot. How wrong I was... they completely owned me. But, what was really strange about it was that they were clearly worse players than my friend. I just suddenly started sucking at Halo 2.

I've gone into trances playing NFSU, then I snap out of it 8 hours later and realize it's 6:00am. I also set awesome laps when I'm like that, churning out a new record just about every time.

You mean you found 'The Zone'. Try it with GT :D

I've fallen asleep during it, too. I don't get like that with any games except for NFSU, not Forzam TOCA, PGR2, nothing else. I don't know why. I told my friend I'd kick his ass one day @ NFSU, and he's like "whatever, ok."

So I told him to wait for about a half hour while I race around and he started playing me, and I was consistently winning by 10 seconds or more. We're neck and neck when I'm not in my trance. I think I have photosensitive seizures. Or something along those lines.

I haven't had many that spring to mind. My favourite also occurred with AOE 2. Playing an online game against 7 other people and just as we finished and everyone had left I was having a look over the map that we had conquered. Somehow there was a single monk left and he was having a jolly old time walking along...

...in the middle of the sea.

I scared myself playing Silent Hill 3.

I was playing with the light off at 11:30 on a dark November night and my cousin was hiding in the wardrobe behind me with a carving knife a Scream outfit to try and scare me.

Me and my cousin in Hungary was playing Tekken 3. This was about 5 years ago.
So me and my cousin playing and having fun with Tekken 3 suddenly my other cousin (she's a girl) came into our room and wanted to play. So, why not let her play? Ok, first it was my other cousins (he's a guy) turn...He got owned tought she hasn't ever played the game. So I tought I would win but no...I LOOSE! She was laughing at us...and we was like :grumpy:

She didn't got a chance to play the game again untill the next day :sly:

I remember pwning a guy online in halo 2 the first time I had ever played. He was the top guy in the server and caught me alone. I was jumping around and dashing around corners and thowing nades to try and keep my self alive. He said something along the lines of "ohhh come here it won't hurt too much when I kill you". Right after that I meleed him, killing him. Half of the people from the hall I lived in, were there. Just kinda fun to see a guy run his mouth off to get killed by some idiot like me.

In cs I was playing in the same server as a kid who lived next door to me. We were on opposite teams and the match was low grav knives only. He leapt at me from the other side of the map and I lunged at him right as he was about to land. I missed and turned around but he wasn't there, I looked around and couldn't see him. I suddenly fell over dead. He had been standing on top of me :(

I can so easily see this ending badly :nervous:

About two months ago I was playing Half-Life 2 on hard difficulty... While I was playing my dad decided to set off some firecrackers directly outside the room. Needless to say, it startled me.

I guess my strange game moments would be when Im playing racing games like Gran Turismo and I go into a day dreaming state not paying attention and I get lap records.

Also other moments are when Im playing FPS online and I get in a zone where I become Invinsicble and mow everyone down. A couple rounds later I usually go into a depression state where I can hardly get any kills.

I know this one.. At first you feel unstoppable then a few minutes later you can't get any frags since you get killed before you pick up one..

Fallin gasleep during Halo, Halo 2, and Unreal Championship 2, and still playing.. that was creepy.

This happens to me all the time.

I was playing Halo at my mates house and his little brother was bugging us for a go so we played 3 player and decided to gang up on him. We were on that stage with the teleports everywhere, and we had just killed him and he was about to come up the teleport so we waited right in front of it. He came through the teleport so we unloaded everything we had, he just moseyed on up, snapped both our necks and stole our guns. He pwned us.

Both of those happen to me alot. :indiff:

Yeah, I get zoned out while playing racing games. In GT4 I was zoned out for about 20 laps at El Capitan in the enduro and they were really fast laps too. It's odd.

I wonder what the psychology is behind 'The Zone'....
It happens to me on longer races, as well.

i was playing gt4 and there were visiters in my house.
i started to pay attention on the coversation instead of on gt4.
i looked back at the screen when i got the money from winning the race :)
