When I picked up my copy from EB Games the guy told me there weren't going to be any guides for a few weeks. Anyone know about this? The guy just told me that it wasn't going to be released till sometime in March or April. I thought this was really odd.

Yeah at EBGames.com there are two GT4 guides, this one and this one.

The second one seems to be an equivalent to the GT4 Bible, but in English.

OK..I've seen these before but I'm still not sure what they are exactly...I'm guessing they're just your basic run of the mill 'stategy guides'...but are they more then that? Anyone know anything more about them and what they might entail...besides what has been posted on this board?

Thx-

Frankly I love the fact that you can't find any info about them on the Prima games site...

That and I find it amazing how much more useless the manuals that came with GT3&4 are compared to the original 2 games. This one might as well have "Paid Advertisement" stamped on the cover.

I'd be upset if the game itself wasn't so good...

I was told at by the guy at Gamestop that it won't be out until sometime in March. Has something to do with a bunch of errors in the guide and they had to change some stuff.

I like the guide because it gives me something to read while the professor is rambling about whatever. I hate college so pointless.

But I like to see the details on the tracks, the cars and what not. Just something to read and look at.

Plus I hate whoring up GTP with a bunch of simple question threads.

If they had included the 200+ page guide that the Japanese version came with, there would be no need to buy a guide. I think that they didn't included it for just that reason: So that people would have to shell out extra for it. Then again, the US version is cheaper, so I guess you could say that instead of charging more for the game, they made the guide an optional add-on.

I still don't get the whole guide for a racing game thing but whatever. As for me buying it, I won't go out of my way to get it but if I see it and I have money on me I'll probably buy the Prima one.

There is a lot to offer in the guide such as car lists with pictures and stats, prize car list, track tech tips, some good tuning advice, lots of nice pcitures, etc. I buy guide with most of the games that I buy and plan to play a while with em.

The guide was said to be out FEB 15.....

man i bouth the guide for Nfsu2---POS
just paid 35 bucks for the ultamite MGS3 collectors guide

hope fully i will buy it soon--toliet reading

I have a friend who works @ SCEA, and there is a delay waiting for all the companies to approve of the stuff going into the PRIMA guide... that's why its taking longer than expected. Although.... there is going to be a concept GT4 artbook that is coming out mid march, so look for it at your nearest EB/gamestop by march 15th.

Sure this site is useful but I don't want to have to get up and search for something or wait for an answer everytime I got a question.

Thats what I am saying.Or have to Print out 50 Pages showing me things.I want it right there in a nice Guide in front of me while Playing the Game. :dopey:

I'll buy the guide. Just as something to kick back and read at the park while my son play's or read on a slow day at work. I'ts kind of funny cause I have read the GT1 guide book like 3 times over. It's cool to reminisce (sp?) about the old Legacy wagon w/ the race mod, or ssr5. There's always going to be printed media, no matter how easy or fast your pda can pull up a book. That $35 guide says video guide underneath. Maybe americans will actually get to see the making of gt4 translated in dvd quality. Good stuff. Cheers.

Why pay for a guide? The best information on all things GT4 can be found on respectable Gran Turismo sites (specially this one, but many others exist). If you want something more meaty to read, you can download and print the FAQs and other write ups at IGN:

IGN Gran Turismo 4 Guides and FAQs

You can find all the info you need in these sites. And if all you're looking for is some nice pictures to complement your guide, then GT4 is perfect, you can make your own action pictures with the Photo Mode!

I used to buy game guides but many questions aren't anwered on them, you ultimately have to resort to game websites like this one to talk to people who play the game like you who have run into your question before.

Prima makes such horrible guides anyway. I usually tend to stay away from them as much as possible. I'm sure everyone remembers Versus Books, and the godly GT3 guide they made. I had a handfull of their guides, and they were much better than Prima, Brady Games, or any other guides available at the time. I haven't seen a new guide from them in years though, I suppose they went out of business. :(

i want my guide for GT4, not so much for how to do everything just something to look at. I like beening able to find a pic of any of the cars in gt4 and i hope the guide will have them

Prima guides are horrible. Had one for a few games and they were missing alot of info. Most of the stuff I had to find online anyways. IMO If Brady (Makes most of the RPG guides) didn't make the guide it probobly won't be worth buying. (besides look how vast GTP is)
